I’m excited to announce DePo Masthead, designed by Derek Powazek.
This is one beautiful theme that draws on classic magazine design. The style is minimal, yet bold and detail-oriented. There is more here than meets the eye.
So, what’s different about this theme? It’s got lots of dynamic features. The header font changes size depending on the length of your blog title. And, to keep things neat and tidy, the column heights of your the articles on the front page will always be equal, even if one article has more content than another.
The focus in this theme is on your content. Each article starts out with the comments tucked away, allowing your reader to take in your brilliance fully, then expand the comments to start the discussion:
Take note of the beautiful navigation elements and clever use of typography. And for the widget lovers out there, we’ve turned the bottom right panel of the footer into a widget area.

I’d love to see more…awesome, sleek themes. A lot of them look kinda cheesy. In fact, there are only 7 I can honestly say I remotley like. Many aren’t…how do you put it…accomodating? Its nice to see a new theme added. I keep sitting there going arghhhhhhh wordpress needs more themes! I’m getting bored of this and the others suck ¬_¬ More sleek themes would be cool. I started using wordpress.org now, though. Mostly for the custom themes and stuff. And before anyone says anything, I purchased the CSS upgrade. Not good when you’re easily confused and wordpress has a lot of classes though. @_@ I wasted my money on that one. Lmao. My own fault though 😡

Nice Theme, thanks again. But there is something needed to do more, the widgets. Its looks ugly if you have some extra widgets and it come down to the page. Overally its a niec theme, but something can be done with the widgets; would be better.

Truly Gorgeous. I’m afraid it may be too popular.
Looks nice and simple but I don’t like themes where additional options like archives tag clouds and widgets are on the bottom. IMO it is better when visitor can easily reach all mentioned above, without the need to scroll all the way down.

Navigation problems abound in this theme.
is there any chance of getting a modified version of this theme? ie one with the same font, color, and button settings but with the old two column (text one side, widgets the other) format? I ask because many of my readers find this new format hard to navigate. There is no place to click to the next set of posts if you don’t want to read the ones on the front page. Comments don’t show up automatically when you open a page or a post, and some of my pages are simply talk back pages making them appear blank or empty. Despite an archive button, all the archive is currently showing is the first 10 posts and then a selection of a similar number of posts from Dec. when you click the arrows at the bottom. I’ve also had complaints about the comment box which now says that thing about “good posts approved bad posts deleted” this does not reflect the policies or thinking around comments on my blog and sends the wrong message to readers that comment approval is arbitrary. It would be nice to have that removed or to be able to insert your own text.
Basically, I really love the color scheme and the clarity and am running it now, but since my stats are down nearly 75% since implementing the new format and the complaints about navigation are up 100%, I’ll likely take it down without improvements.

I used it for a but, but did not like the layout of articles once you get off the front page. I also did not like the centering of post copy (whether titles). I also think the title is too large.
