Today we bring to you a fresh new theme from Jestro Themes. Meet Vigilance:

Vigilance has a super-special set of features, which you can access under Appearance > Vigilance Options after you’ve activated the theme under Appearance > Themes. These include:
- Customizable colors: You set the background color, border color, link color, and link hover color.
- Alert box: A special feature just for this theme, the optional alert box appears at the top of the page and can contain an announcement or other notice that you want to keep prominent on your blog.
- Hidden pages: Enter the page ID numbers of the pages you don’t want to display, and they’ll be hidden from the menu at the top of your blog.
Vigilance also has a custom image header and special widget options. You can display one wide sidebar or two thin sidebars on your blog. As always, you control the look of your blog by adding and removing widgets under the Appearance > Widgets menu. But now, special to Vigilance: If a sidebar doesn’t contain any widgets, it simply disappears.
AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want to use it, but every time I try to change my themes…my page goes crazy. Can anyone help me to keep it sane?
Please contact Support with more details about that problem. We’ll check it out and get you fixed up.
I like it and have change to it.
But there doesn’t seem to be the facility for archive or links pages.
That’s a pity.
Very nice. I really like the alert box.
i use it now 🙂
Sweet! Can you move the blog title to top or bottom or moved altogether? When are the next themes coming out?
No, the blog title can’t be moved. Keep an eye on the news blog for more updates on themes 🙂
Cool. I’ll try the new theme.
If I change with this one.
Is there influence to traffic? 🙂
Nope! Changing your theme does not influence your traffic in any direct way.
One thing I have always been looking for is a clean white theme like this. Love it! I will never change back.
Superb! *thumbs up*
Great new theme. I don’t like changing the look of the blog but when I saw this one I couldn’t resist. I think I still have to get used to it but I think I’ll be using it for a long time. Good job!
Thank you
Hi, Thanks Jestro & Heather
I’ve just moved over to this theme, as I wanted to change the colours which was not available to me before.
However, i’ve added both left and right widgets to Vigilance, but they are stacking above each other i.e. they are displaying as top widget, and bottom widget.
Why is this?
Please contact Support if you’re still encountering that problem.
Cool! But, I’ve loved Albeo..
😀
Yes, it is working now. First the “save” button didn’t seem to work, but it’s perfecly fine now.
Thanks, awesome theme!
Thanks for a lovely theme 🙂
Trying it & Liking it. 🙂
I love the theme! I think the color is a little off.
How do you change your theme on your blog?
You can browse and select new themes under Appearance > Themes in your dashboard.
nice but i have a question.how do i find wordpress bloggers who use the same theme with me??
We don’t currently have a feature to show all of the users who are using a particular theme, though you might want to try a tag search for the name of the theme to see others who are talking about it, i.e. Albeo 🙂
i’m using it.peaceful white.
I like the new theme appearance very much, but I wish it had the Leave a Comment link at the bottom of the post instead of hiding it in that teensy, tiny font up under the title.
it needs more color wordpress needs for themes that have more color for fun blogs
cool! it look real nice!
Really cool one ! thnx a lot….looking for more 🙂
nice theme.
I’ve spent way too much time switching from one appearance to another on my blog in a bid to find something that had the right tone and feel for the kind of material I’m writing. At long last, Vigilance emerged and it has pretty much provided everything I wanted in terms of layout, typographic excellence and ease of use…as we say here in the UK, ‘nice one!’
This is quite a cool, professional-looking theme. I see that there are many ways to customize it. Is there a way, when using this theme, that the separated quotes (the quotes cited and set off) not be automatically italicized?
You’d need the “CSS Upgrade to edit the style of the theme.
the alert box sounds great…but i don’t want to change my theme just to get this feature. Can we get this feature in others themes too.
Thanks for the suggestion. We’ll keep that in mind for a feature on other themes.
Not bad
Finally a theme blog that you can use the entire length of the monitor.
I use the “Silver is the New Black” theme because of that writed before 🙂
I thought I would be able to change the color of the text background. But no. Changing background and border give me (on my small laptop’s screen, anyway) tiny amounts of color around the edges. No real improvement. Am I doing something wrong? Otherwise, it’s pretty nice, and I like the sidebar options. (just wish the method y’all have chosen for changing sidebar widgets was not so clunky)
The background color in the theme options on Vigilance refers to the body background color, not the color behind the text. We are working on making changing sidebar widgets easier. Stay tuned here for updates!
Oh I like this theme. The customization makes this perfect. Time to update my blog. 🙂
Make some themes with color.
I love this! THX so much!
I´m thrilled 🙂
Nice one. Finally a proper theme with some care for the fonts.
love the simple ones !!
Thanks for the theme, I’m currently using it and the extra features really make that little extra difference.
sweet…
Very nice and clean. You can go in many directions with this type of theme.
thank thats cool
Nice design. Very clean cut, just my style! 🙂
Tried it already and quite enjoying it. Looks so clean and awesome! Thanks again!
Woa, what a great theme! But, I don’t like the font
this is top thema
How to add this theme?
You can change the theme of your blog by selecting a new one under Appearance > Themes in your dashboard. They’re in alphabetical order, so Vigilance is near the end 🙂
Wow, perfect =]
Cool…
GREAT ^^
The more I look at Vigilance, the better I like it. Thank you for taking the desires of so many different users into consideration and allowing us the flexibility that makes our blogging much more of an expression of our individuality. Your efforts are really appreciated.
maybe i’ll try it out too…
thanks!
Awesome hope there are more and more themes soon
Ah. Had to tinker with my Firefox settings to shrink the page down enough to see the changes. [When you’re of a certain age, you may have things enlarged out of proportion just to be able to read]
It’s nice, guys. I like it. Really like the widget thing.
I was hoping to be able to change the color of the text background a little, though.
I don’t like it very much. I prefer more those themes which are more cheerful and have less apperance of newspaper.
I have the perfect theme already but this one is really good!
Thanks for making it! I’ll have to check it out on my blog later!
Nice theme.
Looks good. I want to make a good theme too.
I love it, its something I have been looking for for a while… but its missing one thing… I would like to request that it supports right to left languages with the formatting, it currently keeps the header and writng to be aligned to the left. Thanks
I’m trying out your new theme. I am wondering if there is a way to add an image to a widget text box or some other way to add an image (not flickr) to the side bar that is also a link.
Yep! Just add use the img src HTML code in a text widget under Appearances > Widget.
Thanks for the info, looks great…..
It is so compatible with my current set that I am so tempted to us the s word and switch
By the way, do the widgets run java scripts or flash? I haven’t been able to get to them to….
Sorry, no, we don’t allow javascript or Flash for security reasons.
wooowww…i would like to try this new theme.
Added it to my blog! It looks good
Yet another theme, great work guys, keep it up.
hi.
is awesome… but in my opinion the fonts in the wide bar when we set a text widget should be bigger… and on the top of the post, on the comments counter, where says “X comments”, that font could be bigger too, in my opinion… by the way, that was the WP theme of all the times.
my best and congrats to this amazing work.
i switched! awesome theme – love the alert box feature 🙂
Doesnt Fit to my Site =/
Thanks, really like it! I enjoy showing pretty header images, and therefore my H1 blog title is hidden by now. Then H2 subtitle fonts are too small for a title. I suggest two simple changes: 1) Add capabilities to change the H1 title, e. g. adjust to right/left/top/bottom, change font face/color/size etc. 2) Enlarge the subtitle H2 text. Thanks again!
very cool, I am using it and liking it very much
sh*t WP crew and Jestro Themes.

Hi! Very nice theme and I’m trying it already. The coolest thing in it to me is the alert box.
Some notes: My language is Finnish and this theme has some lacks, for example ‘comments’ are still in English, the theme is not completely Finnish. Also I already had complaints from my readers, they have difficulties to find where to leave the comments, because it’s before the post, not on the bottom, if you understand what I’m trying to say. And I don’t like the very narrow (narrower than ever!!) header image space and there lays my blog name covering the image/images.
So to me the best theme so far is Press row. Would you please, please add the alert box in Press row??
One thing, nothing to do with themes, but I say it before I forget it: I’m a very happy wp user but there is one widget that I envy from blogger users. They can add a widget to their sidebar where they add their favourite blogs(RSS or something?) and the blogs update and you can see what’s new and where. The newest update is always on top of the list, it can also say when tho post was made. Could we have something like that to wordpress. com, too?
You can help us localize themes by adding your translation to translate.wordpress.com. You can add RSS feeds and a blogroll to your blog using widgets, under Appearance > Widgets. Thanks for your other suggestions. We’ll keep those in mind.
looks good. very nice………
Doesn’t add anything for me, but it’s always good to see WordPress evolve and grow!
look good
Why doesn’t anyone design a blog like this site: mcsweeneys.net ? Single column, nice-sized title, no borders, nice font, and links below. Is this possible?
cool and simple great….
This is nice. I tested it and I think I’m loving it. Do you have a stats of your hottest and “most used” themes? If so, which one is it?
We don’t offer those stats at the moment I’m afraid Gem.
well, that`s great.
Am using this. thanks.
Custom colours and 3-way sidebar: very good. The fonts aren’t so special and header-styles seem a little strange, but as it has been said before – one can always buy the css-upgrade. But why doesn’t this new theme support any page templates whatsoever? Links, Archives anybody?
cheers
Looks cool. I won’t try it!
Finally, a theme that I like 😉 Thanks a lot for this
Finally, a theme that I really like 😉 Thanks a lot for this
That’s the best theme on wordpress! The options are wonderful! You should really add them to more themes!
Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much for providing us with more themes, and the excellent service.
I’m UNDERWHELMED! (GREGORY means “the vigilant one” btw)
I like black themes, but this is very nice! I’ll try it asap:) Thanks a lot, WordPress!
Looks great, lots of flexibility.
Is it possible to change the font?
You can make changes to the appearance of your blog with the CSS upgrade.
I may as well give it a shot.
it looks great!
Wow I am lovin it. Having blogs on both Blogger & WordPress… I am impressed more by a bit with Worpress..Its like having two wives and deciding whom you love the most 😉
Nice…
it cant be for rtl weblogs
can you fix it ?
RTL support for Vigilance should be here pretty soon 🙂
uggly design 😛
