Search engines are the trade winds of the internet. Like the explorers of the sailing age, intrepid web searchers set out to enrich themselves, their ultimate destination the ultimate mystery. Never mind that they end up on a blog instead of atop a hill of glittering treasure or in the belly of a whale. Let’s stick to the romantic metaphor.
A year ago we launched the WordPress.com search engine. Monthly searches number in the millions. Today we announce a significant update: instant findability. The instant you publish, searchers will see it at the top of the “most recent results” when they search for any terms in your post. We hope this helps people find you even if you aren’t the fountain of youth.
Nice analogue – trade winds etc.
And thanks for the new feature to!
Regards
Stephen
I think everybody will love this.
I knew I made my blog on the best platform ever!
(back to cubing…)
This is a great upgrade..very useful tool… Ithink this utility will become as useful as the Twitter search.
Good Luck guys.
good job! thanks..
I do think this will allow ideas an easier way of getting viewed. Instant findability; AMAZING concept-
All my regards to the team and efforts shown in all the applications getting rolled out…
Thank You-
Cool! I just tried it out with the two pages I just added on the Kingdom of God, and came up on the first page! Can’t do that with Google (yet…). Thanks!
It’s a bit of a learning curve for search. But it does make more sense. Very cool. Thanks.
Think this is brilliant – it’ll certainly help to bring the WordPress community together – great work!
wordpress… you are my “search angel”!
This is a cool feature! Thanks, WP! 🙂
Awesome, i think this feature will improve the blogging growth all around wordpress~ Good job! 🙂
Love it. Will start using it for current information.
This sounds truly awesome. When I look at my stats and see the search words people used to find an article I posted, it’s amazing to see the phrases they used that got matched up. I’m hoping what they found really was what they were looking for. It always seems “right on”. Thank you for your great team work and for tending to so many requests. No wonder everyone appreciates your accomplishments.
Great! i love the concept 😀
This seems like a good idea.
Thank you for this enhancement.

I already thought you were doing a good job with this, especially when compared to Blogspot. I have the same blog with Blogspot that I have here at WordPress. When I would do a Google search for a category in a post I recently put up, after a few hours, the WordPress post would appear on the first or second page, but not my Blogspot post, this is even though Blogspot is owned/run by Google. Go Figure.
thanks.
Nice but shouldn’t it read tags as well as content? My blog is all about standup paddlesurfing but unless I write the words standup paddlesurfing in the latest post it doesn’t show up when I search that term. I always include that in the tags along with other relevant descriptors. I just did a test and my latest post didn’t show up until I edited it and added the search terms to the end of the post. I guess I could do that to all my posts and maybe it would help with other search engines as well.
Yeah it probably should.
wow! time to shine!
Sounds pretty cool! I’d love to be more findable…
Fantastic, great idea!
good job and very move. thanks WP.
This is wonderful…Santa loves wodpress!!
I had no idea this feature existed… If I wanted to find a specific topic, I’d usually just go to the tags page and change the URL. So yeah, I agree with the second comment by augdra, maybe you could make it a bit more visible on the dashboard?
It sounds like a great feature anyway, I’ll surely start using it from here on. 🙂
beauty… it works. I’ve got a couple of views from your direct search for the word Rolex…. so nice. We’re no longer lost in the milions of words in billions of sites… thanks to wordpress.
Kooool! thnx wordpress.
Why don’t you extend the “instant concept of search to the auto generated related posts feature ? I mean why should the related posts feature 2007 news item posts in 2009 ?
that’s great wow
…and being found is what it is all about.
That’s great! Now the more posts u publish + creative pen = more views!
Quite a cool enhancement! Hopefully it will help drive everyones traffic!

whoa! gee,thanx
Thank God atleast someone bothers about newbies! Generally sites give top most position to people who already are well known to others and newbies keep on struggling to come on the top…….so this is latest buzzintown news.
Wow, that is great news. Yayyy! More people to read my blog. This means more posts would translate into a higher chance of being read?
My whole life is about trying to be found. Thanks for this information. I will continue to gather more knowledge on this subject. Keep writing more. Sean
I can see the difference – thank you very much 🙂
Nice, getting integrated traffic is the most valuable part about hosting on wordpress.com, as opposed to wordpress functionality on another hosting site.
Sounds good. 🙂
I’ve been suffering terribly from trade wind. I hope this new feature can provide much needed relief from this embarrassing condition.
great news.
