Search engines are the trade winds of the internet. Like the explorers of the sailing age, intrepid web searchers set out to enrich themselves, their ultimate destination the ultimate mystery. Never mind that they end up on a blog instead of atop a hill of glittering treasure or in the belly of a whale. Let’s stick to the romantic metaphor.
A year ago we launched the WordPress.com search engine. Monthly searches number in the millions. Today we announce a significant update: instant findability. The instant you publish, searchers will see it at the top of the “most recent results” when they search for any terms in your post. We hope this helps people find you even if you aren’t the fountain of youth.
Great^_^ so i’ll be found ^_^ hehe
Everybody will love this 🙂
How fabulous! What a great way to get timely search results. It’s not like blog posts are time-sensitive or anything… 😉
Word. Lookin’ good!
Thanks for all you do!
Looking forward to positive searches (and results) ~
Sounds good. Will have to see how it works out.

What a remarkable idea.
That’s pretty groovy. I can dig it.
Sweet! I already got a hit on blog from this feature.
ell, here’s hoping that visibilty for our blogs increases via this ‘findability’addition. 🙂
This is pretty sweet.

I gotta agree with whatchamacalit – the mustache is a nice feature, er, i mean the findability. ^_^
Sounds Grrrrrrreat! I’ll be waiting for all the adoring fans!
Yes, fine. But how do I make people WANT to find me?
…It’s so lonely to be a Rule of Law constitutionalist.
…Sniff, sniff.
yay!
its nice to have that in wordpress. It really helps. Instant.zooom.gone
thanks for making search in wordpress better. Great work guys.
Would it be possible for a search window to be added somewhere on the dashboard for searching just the one blog from there?
Sure.
Me like – especially the trade winds analogy.
Now, if I could only get me one of those new-fangled dishwashers…
Excellent! Now this makes WordPress the “Undisputed Champ”!!
Hm, interesting. I googled a post title, and there was my blog at the top of the results–cool!
But when I google my name, which is in the title of one of my pages, or when I google the blog’s name, “Printing Disasters”, my blog is not coming up as a result.
Seems odd that the more obscure thing (post title) gets more of a result than the blog title or my name.
Yes search is just for posts, not for blogs (yet).
Fantastic! This is one more reason why WordPress is the best blog site for getting a message out. Thank you.
Dr. J
this is great i have seen the views on my blog skyrocket!
Is “findability” a word? It definitely should be… fer shizzly.
yey!
yes its true…
Very interesting
Nice! This is very much helpful. 😉
Good idea, but no, it didn’t. I checked this morning’s post on a couple of pertinent words. One appeared, but after some very old blogs. The other didn’t at all.

Thanks!
Gosh, sounds so helpful.
Cool!
That’s quite cool! Hopefully people will be interested in my blog… or click the link, scan read, then leave…
