Automatticians in the Bay Area were convinced it was summer this past week, when it rose above 90 Fahrenheit (about 32 Celsius) and we headed to the freezers to stick our heads in. Now it’s back to something much more reasonable and the northern hemisphere is happy to proclaim that it’s spring!
To kick off the season, we’re bringing you a fresh new springtime theme for your blog: SpringLoaded by The 449.

It’s got all the standard features you love, plus a few fresh touches that make it perfect for the fairest season, like a striking green background and sprigs of grass near the search.
You can find SpringLoaded in your dashboard under Appearance > Themes (which is arranged in alpha order).
Spring on!
lovely, very fresh 🙂
I do too like the date display. It’s cool but not my style 😦
it looks great!
love the date.
sounds cool
Its ok but not my style really
cute and nice XD
amazing!!
fantastic 😀
SPLENDID, BRAVO…BRAVO…!!!
I spend lots of time in SF and love it. Miss the city very much. Glad you bought it and I look forward to great things from Automation.
Thanks! Though that’s Automattic 😉
I like it, my wife gardens alot and has a blog but there was really no good theme’s for people that garden until now! Thank’s for thinking of the green peace people!
Nice.
Nice..
Thanks
i wanna use this theme. but i dont know how. can somebody help me ? im still newbie in wordpress. thanks a lot !
Hi there. Just go to Appearance > Themes in your dashboard. You’ll find SpringLoaded there, along with a lot of other neat themes.
It is okay. Limited options.
I love it. I am going to load it now.
Cool theme.
In this part of India, the mercury rose to 50 degree Celsius today. Perhaps, I should move into a freezer :).
Pretty theme, but I don’t understand why theme designers must insist on using tiny fonts, especially in the sidebar. If someone gets the design right, they mess up the fonts, if they get the fonts right, they mess up the design.
Oh well, different strokes, I guess. I still have to shell out $15 for a rudimentary theme that is at least functional and easy to read, if not bathed in pretty colors.
Amazing! Thank you very much!!!
there are many chemtrails behind that tree, is everybody blind? wake up sheeple!
I like the theme, but it isn’t the kind I would use for my blog.
Awesome theme… but I like my theme right now.
love the theme! only suggestion would be make more three column themes
how could i use it?
it looks really nice ^^
cool…….. 🙂
great theme its a keeper
how can put this theam???
ya…that so beauty….or fresh…
Go to Appearance > Themes in your WordPress.com dashboard. It’s there, in alphabetical order 🙂
Very clean and green. Really makes me feel good. Thanks for designing it.
nice
I hate It
I love this theme. Am using it now. Looks great!
thank u alot. It`s pretty
Nice! But as others, I also need a three column template and there are only a few where you can choose from
that’s a very cool theme, however I dont think its suitable for my book reviews (unfortunately)
A lovely fresh and clean look!
I love the color. keep up the good work you guys! (h)
thats really pretty I will use it!!! 🙂
Cool, a new theme! Even though I don’t dig this one that much, it’s exciting to see new themes come out. I find this one to be a bit awkward. Not my favorite, but I’m looking forward to future themes and thanks so much for all the great ones in the past!
love it… especially the grass on the search field!
Good
gud..gud..gud…… but not my style.. it’s to girly…
Nice theme. Spring look makes it special!
More themes please!
nice and simple. yet i’m looking for those mellow type of themes…
Nice theme…
I would however like the wordpress.com blog theme developers to try and develop some dark themes (2-columns), with the appearance of ”windows vista aero”, which would be nice, and black 😛
I myself don’t know much about theme development, and am not in graphics as well 😀
I’ve tried some of the black themes, but some info from my blog go missing…in fact I would have liked a theme like ‘Freshy’, but with dark black background, white font (or any readable color) and some aero looks…
Hope you guys and girls there can work on something like this…cheerz for your works!
Thanks – it looks great. I might just give it a try. I’m quite new to WP so like to experiment. Haven’t tried the smiley thing before either so hope it doesn’t come out as a frown or something. 🙂
Wow – that’s pretty and cool. I think that’s the one for my wife’s gardening blog 🙂
nice themes planning on focusing on any characters like Stewie from family guy?
Not at the moment, but thanks for the suggestion 🙂
Nice!
it’s nice and beautiful theme
Go green… go green… go green
yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aweful man veryyyyyy bad-could do better . fresh new theme u cal it hunh – hehehe LOL
I’d like to make a suggestion that the Theme pages get categorised a bit better……….. can’t we have for men and for women? lol, I think the themes are really manly. I like something minimal and simplistic, im not talking pink with flowers. lol.
Few suggestions.
we need more orange, lilacs, limes, sky blues, I don’t like dark themes and many of them are…………….
Honestly, guys, we need more themes, I think many agree 🙂
So, please…….. give us more!!
i like that !!!!!!!!!
I already test that out!
Great job!
Love WP so much.
Wow. It’s cute.
Ooh that’s pretty =]
Great theme.
Fantastico!!
The contrasting variations on the color green are REALLY nice. I just chose a new theme today, so I won’t be upgrading anytime soon, but what a very concise theme. Thank you for sharing with us!
very nice! cool…
Great, i can smell the fresh cut grass! 🙂
BeAUtifUL !!! full full..

Beautiful theme. Will try it out.
wow! i am lov’in it!! I am using it!!! 🙂

WordPress.com new “SpringLoaded” Theme looks good, but its following two major problems should be fixed as soon as possible:
1. The SpringLoaded Theme’s all right navigation bars or all widgets on the right side automatically float at the bottom of each Webpage when a reader looks at it while signed out of his/her WordPress blog (Microsoft Internet Explorer 8).
2. The very large red “date” display on the left side of each Webpage and every post should be deleted/removed from the SpringLoaded Theme, because countless bloggers do not want to show/display the date of their posts or pages so prominently. If the date of any Webpage or published item is old and the old date displays like a very big red headline, then innumerable readers will not read the Webpage with an old date while thinking that the printed item is old or very old. Sometimes old is gold, but new is view.
NOTE: All designers of WordPress themes or templates should allow all WordPress users to change the colors of their templates or themes, so that the WordPress bloggers can add or change almost any color of their choice in their WordPress blogs/websites.
1) Please send in a support request and provide a link where we can see this happening. We haven’t been able to reproduce the problem.
2) This is the design of the theme. If you would like to change the style or hide the date area, you can use the Custom CSS upgrade if you know CSS: https://wordpress.com/support/custom-css/ This also applies to changing the colors of any theme on WordPress.com.
Woah. I love it! I think i’ll have to try it.
Cool! I Like the useful green added. It makes me want to celebrate earth day! Keep the awesome themes coming!
nice theme… more coming new themes perhaps?
Just switched over to the theme. Noticed a couple more issues. Widget boxes continue to be iffy. If the widget title is more than one line, the second line bleeds into the body of the widget box. Also, appearance would be improved if, in the absence of a *title* for the widget, the *top* of the widget’s border were the same as the sides and bottom. (As it is, it appears that the top of the widget border is fixed.)
We are looking into the problem with long titles in widgets and see what we can do about no titles.
Making my blogs debut back on wp.com this is the theme that I decided on as it is great! Thanks for putting it out there!
I love it ! fresh and cool
I like it, but don’t think it would work for me!!
I love it^^
I recently used the WordPress.com new SpringLoaded Theme, but due to its following 3 design (HTML/CSS) problems, I have changed this theme to another theme for my WordPress blog.
1. The SpringLoaded Theme’s all right navigation bars or all widgets on the right side automatically float at the bottom of each Webpage when any reader looks at it, through the Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, while signed out of his/her WordPress blog.
2. The HTML OL (numbered) lists do not working properly in the SpringLoaded Theme, because the dots and spaces at the end of almost each and every number disappear leaving no space between the numbers and the text in the OL lists.
3. The very large red Date display on the left side of each Webpage and every post should be deleted/removed from the SpringLoaded Theme, because countless bloggers do not want to show/display the date of their posts or pages so prominently.

Subject: Re: Hello 449 – Fix the Problems with WordPress SpringLoaded Theme
Hi,
Thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately, as SpringLoaded is a free theme and we do not make any profit on the back of it, we offer absolutely no support for it. It is also down to us what specification we build our themes to as we are a functioning business and have limited time to spend on non-profit projects.
If you would like to make these changes yourself and contribute them back to the [WordPress] community, feel free to do so, but we will not be doing so unless someone wants to commission us to do this.
Thanks!
Responded to your previous concerns in your first comment.
I’ve applied a fix to the theme for the lists.
Thank you to everybody, and to wordpress; from a greatful beginner.
A theme that’s matched to a season.. nice.. Very fashion oriented. I must say your picture is very winter cold though…. 🙂
thanks for the new theme:)
gud theme
a very good theme
Love the look of the new theme (including the prominence of the ‘search’ box), and changed my blog over to it.
However, for some reason, this theme put my archives/latest posts and blogroll sections UNDERNEATH my posts, even after I went to the ‘widget’ section to have them placed in my sidebar!
That looks so cool and breezy. Thanks 🙂
Thank you!!!
Sue
i like it. might try it! keep it coming!!!!
Like it too,
This theme is cool 🙂
Very pretty… but still aint what I am looking for 😦
Cool, that’s time to change our outfits to summer time 😀

I ll consider it, once I am not happy with mine anymore
keep designing new themes :o)

Just in time for summer…
Cute but winter is coming over here.
