iNove by mg12 is one of the top themes used for self-hosted WordPress blogs, and a commonly requested addition to our offerings here on WordPress.com. We’re always doing what we can to bring you the cool new stuff you want, so now you’ve got it, too! iNove for WordPress.com:
Some handy features of this theme:
- Display pages or categories in the menu below your header.
- Display your page hierarchy in your menu on hover.
- Options to show a notice, banner, and special showcase widget to registered users, visitors, or commentators. You control your message.
- The ability to hide and show authors, categories, and tags on posts.
- Remove your sidebar with a single click.
You’ll find all of these settings under Appearance > Current Theme Options in your dashboard after you’ve activated iNove.
To do that, go to Appearance > Themes in your dashboard, find iNove (they’re in alpha order), and click Preview to see how it will look on your blog. If you dig it, click Activate and it’s yours.
This one not quite for you? Keep an eye on the news blog for more themes, coming soon 🙂

I just had a look at the WordPress.com themes. If you filter by popularity, the first 9, as well as # 11, 13 and 15, are all themes with custom headers. Considering there ARE only 28 themes available with custom headers, it looks to me like people want more! Another hint. 🙂
There’s any way to remove the standard widget that comes with it? Like Meta, Categories and Archives? I’m talking about the blogs hosted in wodpress, not the self-hosteds.
Thanks.
To clear out the default widgets, add a blank text widget under Appearance > Widgets. This will eliminate the ones that are there so you can start fresh 🙂
I know Custom Header is not an option, but, and I don’t know much about the programming involved, can it be added to the official theme?
What’d it take?
We hear ya, and we’ll definitely consider adding it in the future. 🙂
I don’t like it so much, but I’ll try
hey the option for side bar is missing??
before there are for sidebar for widget
north, east, etc…
now it’s missing, why?
There’s now one default sidebar on iNove.
Just activated it and it looks nice, but I agree with some of the other comments. A custom header option would be nice.
Loved it! I’m already using it and I’ll wait for more themes. You rock, guys! 😀
I loved it with all 4 sidebars, but for some reason, I don’t have them now!
Is there a way we can pick which ones are active for those who liked having them?
what the f…?? why do you kill the great options in the sidebar??? now it’s a boring huge block, while before i was able to style it the way i wanted with one and two columns exactly WHERE i wanted them to be! that was a FIRST on wordpress.com, and you kill it! that’s a shame, really. i was so happy with the theme, but now it lost a huge part of it’s appeal 😦
You can enable and disable widgets in one click. That screenshot happens to show them disabled. No worries, all the functionality is there 🙂
It took me three hours yesterday to get the sidebars as I wanted them, having multiple sidebars was the reason I swapped Themes in the first place – and now it’s all gone!
You can hardly call it an “Upgrade” when you reduce a really innovative theme to just a normal Blog template….. it’s more of a Downgrade, really!
What happened to the south, east and west side bars that were there yesterday? I noticed mine were gone today, and had to move the widgets that were in them–Categories, Archives and Calendar–to the one sidebar left (formally known as north). http://mattamesblogs.wordpress.com. P.S. I’m loving this theme! Great work!
Very good one, nice work!
PS: There will be more themes with fluid width in the future? I love that kind of designs that fits in every computer.
Thanks
great addition, thanks
i had a hard time customizing my page as i am just getting started here, i like this new one though..
I’ll try it first. Thanks WordPress.com!
hello,
I think I’m a bit of out of date concerning the discovering of new added themes, but when i checked yesterday and found the inove theme I was very glad to test it. although its header can not be customized, I’m gonna adopt it. Thank you to bring more themes.
Bring it. But I am lazy and looking 4 the one click custom bad a** header. And a photo type that let’s one combine blog and pics that is not a straight up setup for just photo display. My motto I’ll know it when I see it.
Heloise
Themes made by Justin Tadlock are awesome! I wish you’d add them on the list. 🙂
East, West and South sidebars are gone.
Coooool…….!!!
OMG! Exclusive looks!
HI! I am a new member of wordpress. I know a little about theme decorating, however your theme looks very nice and clean.
I wish the “handy features” were available for all themes.
I’ve started to use this theme @ http://conservationreport.com/. However, some of the formatting is somewhat off between blog posts on my main page. Is this an issue with my formatting, or is this an issue with the template itself that will be resolved in the future? Many thanks!!! And WordPress rocks!!!
Pretty cool!
I love this theme and i´m using it in one blog hosted outside WordPress.com.
Now i can use it here too.!
greetings from Brazil
thanks about information…
theme is very good…
Great theme. I agree with the custom header post.
nice ill post it on my clubpengui site and try it
I am not interested in, I like the theme what I have on my page bylinky
Nice and simple style… but we need more customisation. That’s the way to go for all themes!
I think I will try it out first. I like the tree, it looks so fresh and airy!
The new theme rock! Thanks WordPress
I like the theme, and would use it, but I’m not inclined to pay for custom CSS just to remove the RSS button, which while perhaps of value to some, is a bit problematic for those of us using Feedburner or other outside sources that are more customizable than the built-in solution.
great. but what i really like is what the homepage for wordpress is at the moment while you are under construction. you know all the boxes with the little pictures. i reckon thats cool, and i’d totally change theme to it.
Another favorite theme from WordPress.org. Cool!
AWESOME THEME I WANT THE THEME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love it, but please bring back the NSEW sidebars.
Nice theme. I activated it. Since customer header is not an option, can you please at least give an option of choice of color at the top. I don’t particularly like black 🙂
Great! I love to try it sometime
That looks Awsome gonna try it right now and i’ll use some of that picrute (that tree) on the start page :).
i dont like this theame….. i like only one theame… Digg 3 Designer this is very nice theame plz.. please launch new theams retated Digg 3
Nicefull themes. I like it and now I’m used it.
Thank you Heather.
Wow! Really nice neat theme. I just switched..
One small problem tho.
Don’t know if this is affecting anyone else, but unless my tags fill up a whole line, the title for my next post just kind of runs on straight after the tag words from the last one, on the same line.
We recently made changes that should solve this problem. If you encounter any issues, please contact Support.
thanks for the new theme…im using it… more themes please… thanks.
i keep trying for the theme…
thank yous
gr8 theme top of my favorites!!
=)
thanx wp
I lov themes!
Still waiting for the thesis theme to become a premium option…
I’m using this theme. And tried to make Categories as menu, but the sub categories are not shown properly as menu item. Pages and sub pages are working fine.
More themes always it is good news !
I´m using this theme and I changed the options to show the categories in the top menu, but I´m having some problems with differents resolutions. When the category has subcategories the submenu show up too far so I can´t click it. This occurs when I´m using a resolution of 1280×800, but with a resolution of 1024×768 it works, but not very well, it is possible to click on the submenu but it is really hard.
I hope you fix it because iNove is a wonderful theme.
Wow I can’t wait to try it. =)
thank’s it’s look like luxurious template wordpress blog
Whoa beautiful! I love it!
cool theme, will try it right away !!!!
pages list looks like breadcrumbs. not good. 🙂
I love it and have switched both of my blogs to it. I’m especially happy with the banner option and can’t wait to use the notice option. Thank you very much for the best WP.com theme sofar!
This will satiate my hunger for new themes for a while.
this is nice, very clean!
I have been searching for a good theme and I think I finally found it. The arrows at the top are especially original and this is by far the most customizable theme, although I wish I could choose colors/header. I had no idea it was new though.
,,,,,,,,,,,O_e AWSEOM!
Nice work on the theme.
Very nice handy work. Clean and Crisp.
The theme looks great. However when the syntax highlighter plugin is used along with this theme, the code posted in the blog does not align well in all browsers. In some browsers (Opera) the line numbers take too much space and in others (Chrome) the end regions of the code box is grayed out. Can you fix this ?
Syntax highlighter can be found here -> http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/syntaxhighlighter/
Switching to a different theme causes the syntax highlighter to work as usual
I like it. But when I previewed it, it made all titles of subsequent posts start right at the end of the last post, like it was the next sentence. Fix this and t will be golden.
Nice theme… But I already falling in love with Chris Pearson Theme 😉
HEHE!!!! I Cant wait!!!!!! ANYMORE!!! LOL 😀
Captivate
lets have more themes !!!!!
I like it but i don’t. I envisioned it to be darker for some reason.
vary cool, I am using it now!
Very cool!
Cool, I like it 🙂
Nice! Though I haven’t used the theme yet it is an attractive option as I look towards a change.
I liked possibilities with the four sidebars and would like to see them back. They’ll almost disappear by adding a text widget with a single space in the title. But that’s not why I’m commenting…
… having the date on content is usually helpful but it’s not necessarily ideal to have it on pages as well as posts. I might work out how to hide it with css but a radio button somewhere would be easier!
Thanks.
I LOVE this!
Thank you for continuing to give all of us new themes to try out 🙂
Interesting. Although I only drool over themes with custom headers.
interesting to try 🙂
wow !! owasome
I like it, and I needed a change. Thank you! 😉
i like it, but would like to keep my custom header.
You guys offer so much to us freeloaders…I’m starting to feel guilty….
Nice theme and thanks for sharing…it looks kinda appleish.
Wow…very, very nice! Thx wp.
CooL thank u
nice theme i’d say..but still im waiting for a header costumized themes
headers speak up for creativity and can interest readers in exploring the site ;_;
real nice
I really love this theme
Anyway to make this theme have 2 columns on the right side instead of one?
Nice! But I still love Tarski. What I am looking for is dominant luxurious white in three columns and customizable header.
nice…i would try it
Thank you for your suggestion but it looks boring to me 🙂
If possible use tahoma font in sidebar and comment list because this is best font for Persian language . and remove feed icon on top of side bar because now most users use the feedburner and they want to use one icon for feed blog.
thank you
