I’m happy to present to you, “Motion,” a dashing new theme inspired by movement and film. Bursting with style and options, Motion is a clean, colorful, and charismatic new theme.
Motion combines color and clean lines to give your content character without hindering consumption. Aside from great design, the theme has some pretty interesting features. The menu shows both categories and pages, in separate locations, allowing your visitors to choose how they’d like to navigate your site.
There is also a really nice widget area that acts a little bit different than most other widget areas. It’s the “header” widget area – you can use it for intro text, a link to your RSS feed, or anything you want your users to see right away.
Last, but definitely not least, is the footer. It’s big, clean, and widgetized. By default you have Links, Pages, and Archives – but it’s all up to you, customize the footer however you’d like.

One quibble though, it would be nice if the number of comments on a blog post were listed somewhere on the main page. That would really make my day!

Categories should be at the top, and the pages below. It should also be able to exclude categories.
A theme is very cool, but by the arrangement of the elements is not practical.
We hope to change that, or the feature to change the position of these elements?

Just to add to Jean-Luc Crucifix’s comment, my blog has WAY too many categories to sit at the top of the theme. I would prefer either the option to select what sits up there or nothing at all. My categories need to stay in the sidebar.

Definitely the theme thing was one of the big advantages that Blogspot had over WordPress.
Right now, i’m falling more and more for the service i chose. WordPress IS actually the best… and counting. 😀

I really miss the post author’s name. And this theme screams for a custom header and/or background, just to make it perfect. It’s not cool if ALL blogs using the theme look just exactly the same. Other than that, thanks to the guys that created the theme, and thanks to the guys at wordpress that bring it to us. Great work.
Actually I have now changed it as like Paul I don’t like my categories at the top. If you have lot’s of categories it looks too cluttered. Would be fine if you could change all of them to something else or delete them all. Shame. I’ts lovely apart from that.
Does this consensus mean that everyone’s blog will soon look the same….?

this would be a great one, IF i could change the colors. I like the layout. Even if there were basic other colors such as blue, red (the dark, not bright and gaudy), purple or even a brown. but I like it Noel. really i do

There has been a lot of new themes lately. But why can’t there be one that can look personalized without using CSS? Or at least have a customizable header?
My suggestion is another theme like Neat, K2-Lite, or Sapphire but with more features, such as customizable colors and a flexible width.
Great look, but in the preview mode, the fonts are way too small…anyway to increase the font size without having to manually update the HTML code on each post?

Thanks for the great theme, Noel. I’ve chosen it for an experimental site I’m currently developing. One thing that seems to be a major problem: I love the dropdown appearance for subcategories (top), but the cursor has trouble moving from category field to subcategory fields. I sometimes have success when moving my mouse quickly, but it doesn’t work most of the time. Have you noticed this? Advice? It’s a feature my navigation depends on.

BEAUTIFUL theme! Gorgeous, gorgeous colour and I love the large font, wide columns and clearness of it all. At first I didn’t like the categories at the top but I actually think that’s a genius idea!

Looks nice. Well, just one thing: there is no sticky note-option and the list of themes indicates there should be one. Is it just my browser, a bug or just just accidentally added “sticky posts” to the desciption? Thanks anyway.

It’s a very nice theme, indeed. The german translation is bad, though. I just don’t get why it isn’t possible to use the translated strings from other themes for new themes – but anyway. Maybe you’ll add a decent translation soon.

Cool Theme!
I wish someone would improve the inove theme, and make it so that you can change the background to complete white, and place a black rounded border around the blog area along with the side column, and add another column with square blank area for a custom logo, and below that archives, and below that categories (which you can selectively show or delete, or at least hide). Also, allow for a smoothed journal title/header, instead of plain and ugly looking, wiith optional font choices, not just one, and font size choices, and switchable images for the header, not just that carbon thing, but alternatives, like black snake scales, or green scale like leaves, burl (and the ability for the title/header of the blog to blend in well with the wood).
PLEASE someone do this, the inove theme is the best but too plain and simple.

@Noel: I had activated the motion theme a couple of days ago and all of my 10 widgets had worked great then. But I suddenly found out today that all of them have disappeared. I cant think of any reason why it happened. Any suggestions. please? Please, I need a bit of help to sort the problem out. 😦

i had used this theme as soon as it was released; i customized all the widgets again (since there is the new footer bar included) – but yesterday i found all my widgets gone into inactive section. i don’t know how everything was reset. i didn’t login for a day, when i came back i saw all widgets are gone, only defaults remained.
i have not lost anything, i can simply drag and put them into place again. but any idea why & how this could happen?

BTW, Categories can be removed from the top navigation bar very easily, as follows:-
1. Dashboard
2. Appearance
3. Motion Options (You have the option of hiding/showing the Categories and/or the Home page.)

I like this one a lot. It’s packs a lot of visual punch for the non-CSS user! The only downside that I can see so far is not being able to remove the category buttons at the top of the page. In your preview, they appear under the blog title, so I was a little mislead by that. There has to be a work around, even though it might mean removing categories altogether. I might do a poll to see how many people filter by category type.
