You can now send your WordPress.com posts to Facebook.
Joining our Yahoo and Twitter features is the latest in WordPress.com’s Publicize family: Facebook.
The feature can be enabled from your Dashboard → My Blogs admin page. Once you enable it, you’ll be directed through an authorization procedure to confirm that you want to connect your WordPress.com blog and your Facebook account.
These connections are per blog and per user, so those of you with several blogs can choose which ones to connect, and those of you with multiple authors on one blog can each hook up your Facebook accounts separately.
More details can be found on the Publicize support page.
Update
Some of you may have been getting error messages asking you to authorize your connection with Facebook even though you already did that.
We think we’ve found this bug, so the error message will go away, but you’ll have to re-authorize that connection once more. Go back to My Blogs, uncheck Facebook, recheck Facebook and click the authorization button again. If that doesn’t work go through the steps outlined here. Failing that, we’ll be happy to help you out if you contact support.
Waaaay kewel!!! 🙂 & thanks 🙂
However please, please, please DO NOT foist Facebook Connect on us. The Damocles Sword of face(less)book’s account deletion policy makes that a dangerous proposition.
Although you get greater exposure, you lose tracking ability..the FB page is read and not your blog.
Awesome, awesome, awesome! 🙂
About time!
My husband and I have separate FB accounts but share a blog. Is it possible to set it up to post to both our FB accounts?
Our Publicize features are per user and per blog, so you could set the blog to send your posts (the ones you write) to your Facebook account and your husband’s posts (the ones he writes) to his Facebook accounts.
You cannot currently send the same post (say one that you write) to two different Facebook accounts.
thats nice to hear that you can post your messages to facebook.
thanks for this
First of all, great work WordPress.com! Thanks for introducing the Facebook Publicize!
Currently, I do have a page under my account so it is actually possible to publicize to my page instead of my account?
We don’t currently support posting to your fan page (instead of your account), but we’re looking into it.
When you set up photos to publicize as well, will we be able to post GIF or animated images? As currently FaceBook doesn’t allow animated images.
You’ll certainly be able to post to WordPress.com whatever you want. When it gets sent over to Facebook, though, Facebook will filter out anything they don’t support.
Thanks! Definitely one of the long awaited features! Thanks!
that is very useful!
It’s a good start, but I’d like the ability to filter which Facebook friends see my WP.com posts. Other Facebook applications have this option. Is it on the agenda for Publicize: Facebook?
Per-post privacy settings are not currently on the agenda.
This makes my life easier.
cool, another new feature. thx!
Thank you, this is great!
Oh, what about stats, though? Can I assume WP does not keep track of my views on FB?
That’s right, we don’t track your views on Facebook.
Yes… i like this feature…. 🙂
cool, we will love it!
very nice…. bravo wordpress.com!!!
Neato!!
This is great and I will look forward to when you can use this great tool for Fan Pages too.
I LIKE THISSSS!!!!! YIHAAAAA!!!!
nice info..thanks.
Thank you… I’ve been waiting for this…
This is awesome! Thanks so much for the option. Keep up the excellent work 😀
Oh yeahh!
Thanks. I linked my fb page to my blog, but it hasn’t shown up yet. hmmmm wonder what is up with that? I’ll contact support.
I’ll see if I can figure out how to do this….
Tried it, loved it! It works and it works fast.
Good way to advertise your word press blog without blatantly saying it a hundred times. lol
🙂
Thanks!
awesomeness !!! ❤
I don’t even have Facebook, but if I did, this would be rad.
Perfect, should save a good deal of time!
I can see myself using that if I had Facebook, it will probably be time saving for those with facebook so they don’t have to post twice. Well done, WordPress.
o0o0o, perfect!
Oooooooooooooooooooo – this is coooooooooooooooooooooooool
Thank you – you’ve made my carpal tunnel very happy.
Whew, this info is really cool feature. I just wait long time ago to be available. Well done guys
This would definitely make life much easier. Reaching 800+ friends on fb in an instant is a big bonus. Another landmark achievement…
I was able to do that way before this feature but its a nice feature nonetheless.
love it…. perfecto…
This is good, but as you stated, it’s not for Facebook Pages, which my blog has. I’m glad you’re looking into that, as it’s rather tedious to manually post each post to Wellsy’s World’s Wall.
What happens if you edit your wp post? does it automatically send an edited version to fb? does it repost with changes? I’m always finding typos and lines that I’d like changed….
Currently, nothing happens on Facebook when you edit a post. Same for when you delete a post.
Improvements are based on feedback, though, so thanks for yours 🙂
I think the facebook importer is bad. it pulls html which makes article messed up. i will try this tool now
very cool I can’t wait to check it out! Let’s hope it works great.
no doubt this feature is wonderful. I have just linked with facebook.
yes… really… is cool
very cool
Okee Dokee. I’ll give it a try. Thanks.
Cool. Already tried it out and works great. Much better than the blog import function in facebook.
I like it….go ahead wordpress
This is just what I have been waiting for. THANKS WORDPRESS !!
Very nice feature. Is there any way to select a picture to go along with it? I often have a small drawing or photo to go along with my blog, when I past a link in FB, it allows me to select it. Is that something you could add?
We’re working on setting up pictures and videos.
but how can i do this dear?
Full instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/publicize/
i’ve tried it on both facebook and yahoo. works perfectly for me. thanks 😀
Good news:
I can now send your WordPress.com posts to Facebook.
Bad news:
I don’t have Facebook account 🙂
Another +1 for allowing posting to our Fan Pages as well!! Thanks!
lovely!
Having a problem doing this. My blog has been linked to my facebook account since I got a message saying the linking was successful. But every time I publish, nothing comes up on my facebook wall.
If I try “authorize connection with facebook” link again, it just takes me to my dashboard. How do I resolve this?
Try:
1. Uncheck “Facebook” from your WordPress.com Publicize settings.
2. Log in to Facebook and go to “Account” → “Application Settings”.
3. Find “WordPress.com” in the list of your applications and click the “X” in its row to remove it.
4. Go back to your Publicize settings, and click the Facebook checkbox again.
5. Go through the approval process, then see if it works.
If you continue to have problems, please contact support.
Are you going to be able to provide this new feature as a plug-in for wordpress.org users as well?
There are a couple plugins that provide similar functionality, but yes, we plan on releasing our Publicize plugin. I don’t have a specific ETA on this, though.
I don’t see any way to change the default security on this. My blog is more public than my FB wall. The old way posted to Notes, which I had set to allow Everyone to see.
Since it posts on my Wall now, only Friends of Friends can see them.
it’s saving my time…
Wow very COOL. Thanks WP.
Really happy about this feature but so far did not get it to work.
I like this! Really like this!
cool time to rack in the views man. RACK THOSE VIEWS IN
Many people already asked my question and you graciously answered it over and over again. 🙂 Thanks for this and thanks for working on the same for fan pages.
How brilliant is that!
tight work!!
I joined Facebook a couple of days ago. Thanks for the new feature, WordPress!
Awesome feature and enjoy the ability to do this. I did test it a little bit and I found that when creating a post from the dashboard and publishing it works well. However, scheduled posts aren’t going to facebook neither are posts that i update using the Blackberry App. When I log into my account after trying both of those out I noticed that on the scheduled post and the Blackberry App post the facebook wasn’t checkmarked which obviously resulted in it not going to fb. I understand that since this is new there are bound to be a few glitches but wanted to make you aware. I had similar problem when the twitter feature first rolled out and it was quickly fixed.
Thanks for the awesome work. BTW I am using the wordpress.com hosted blog with my own domain name.
Any chance of doing the same with LinkedIn? Just a thought…
If you already have your blog posts published on Facebook via Networked Blogs, does this mean that by signing up via WordPress posts will be published twice?
LOVE THIS feature! I’ve been posting multiple places manually, because I haven’t wanted to mess with it, but I saw the announcement, set it up, and it worked like a charm! Thanks!
That’s cool, but I don’t use FB. I like the Twitter integration, though.
Are you planning to support Identi.ca (and other Statusnet / openmicroblogging sites) and Buzz soon?
here’s another vote to link WP posts to FB pages.
i’ll try this right now! thanks!
After reading your post, your site is very useful for me and thanks for new features.
I already linked my blog to my facebook account with the help of RSS feed. I have also developed Facebook Applications, so thanks again for nice feature.
Awesome! Cool! Thanks!
thanks for this feature, it’s simple and works. truly awesome
Great idea Thanks. Ana
Great news! Thank you!
Great. I was waiting for that!
Thanks! Just in time too! I was about to switch host and to then over to .org for this very reason!
Hi mdawaffe, thanks for the post. I’ll try it right now.
I have a question: that “subscribe me” button at the end of your post… can I insert some kind of that in a simple email vía my outlook?
Thank you in advance,
JOSE ANTONIO RODRIGUEZ

Brilliant! 😀
Very cool!
:X sehr danke
This is good! It’s what I’ve been waiting for.
As soon as this can support posting to a facebook page or group this will become my favorite publicize feature. 🙂
It would really be nice if your WordPress Facebook app had permissions of who could see the posts made, similar to the Notes application. There are some people on Facebook I’d rather be able to protect my content from.
*Napolean Dynamite voice* Sweeeetttt!
I have a regular page and a fan page. I would like my blog o go to my fan page, but it’s showing up on my regular page. Is there any way to get it to show up on just the fan page? Thanks!
I am very happy with this new feature;
HEEL ERG BEDANKT, WORDPRESS!!!!
What an awesome thing for both of us!
This is a great step forward, thank you!
This is an awesome feature. Wanna spread some Magic Coffee luv… What better way 😉
Mantaaaappp….!!! I mean, coooolll….!!
Awesome!
