Go against the grain with “Dark Wood,” an eye-catching and playful theme. Bright colors and whimsical icons fuse with dark tones to provide a pleasing and harmonious design. Dark Wood is a three column theme with a rich wood textured background.

When you’re looking for a theme with some serious character, Dark Wood could definitely be the one. Bright links and header icons give the design some real spice, complemented with a whimsical background.
Dark Wood doesn’t leave out the extras either. There are two sidebars that can be packed with widgets and the search box comes styled nicely to match the design.

Dark Wood will provide a pleasing and harmonious backdrop for your blog. Give it a spin and see how you like it.
Dark Wood is available for all WordPress.com sites and is available for WordPress.org users over at the Theme Directory.
let i try it 🙂
nice theme..easy changes background..love it..
How about a fake wood paneling blog? It would bring back memories of my childhood rotting in the basement 😉
its very nice
the artificially condensed arial(?) does not work at all…the letterforms are horsey and they’re kerned way too tightly
just pick a nice typeface and let it be!
so Nature :: sangat bagus :: very nice
A great theme but i don’t really like three columns. i think two columns would be better.
Cool!
P.S. I like the name of the page “How I learned stop worrying and enjoy the blog”
Looks like my parents basement from the 70’s!
Nice Theme, I Want Try It!!
What a beautiful theme. Congratulations.
I really like it. I’m in.
Sorry, man – all that pink and the flower on every post? Way too girly. Seriously.
I like the way the header box expands to fit the text, but the title all in lower case? Nope – bad idea. And yet initial capitals are imposed for all words in the post titles. That’s just wrong. Both items should be the bloggers’ choice.
Nice try, but it really needs more work. Lose the pink and the flowers, and revert to the standard English format for blog and post titles (which people can ignore if they wish, without difficulty), and you should have something. As it is, it’s confused.
I’m having trouble getting it to upload a new header. It seems to do it and then when it says “crop header” the image isn’t even there. So I just click crop to see what will happen and it goes back to the default header. Any ideas? Anyone else had trouble uploading a customer header on this theme?
Dark Wood has a custom background, not a custom header.
I love this new design BUT the custom header option suddenly disappeared and reset my header to the original color making it extremely hard to read. Can someone look into where the weavils have taken the “custom header option” and entice them to return it.
You shouldn’t see a custom header option for Dark Wood. It only has a custom background option.
Cool! I hope there are more coming. Keep up the good work!
Too many different colors, I think. Otherwise, it is nice.
I really like this one! It has a nice “earthy” feel to it.
Nice! I might try this theme on my other blog.
Very Nice work…
nice theme. i love it!
its a lil too brown.. but that’s ok it’ll be a big hit with brown lovers.
could u please some really nice red one ?! not girly stuff.
can’t find anything nice red theme.. =)
The Supposedly Clean theme has a nice read header as one of the theme options.
nice ..
but i don’t like the dark colors..
thanX
i love this theme.
will use it now!
This is GORGEOUS!!! If I weren’t so attached to my “vigilance” I would change themes. Nice work!
Nice one! Congratulations Noel.
Very nicely done mate
Nice one
Another bad theme. Good job, bro.
it’s very nice
great template friends…..
Great theme! Looks very comfortable and real!
It looks awesome. I think I’ll give it a try.
Love this theme but been confused as it has been listed as having a custom header.
This WAS there as I saw it and even wrote down the dimensions for the header now it seems to have disappeared!
Ah, you’re right! It was there just for a short time, but it was removed because the theme isn’t designed to have a full image in the header. You need to customize the background image instead.
you choose my favourite colour thanks alot
Very nice, I will try that now 🙂
I like it.
Bravo! You’ve taken care of it! I’m using it already. Hoping for more to come. 🙂
luung nokkk .
Really great! Just wish the pink flower icons could be taken out and the pink tag color to be switched. Possible?
You could use the Custom CSS upgrade for that.
Nice!!!! thanksss
I like it! congrats!!
Love to see new themes. This is great!!
Stunning. Might even be better than Blix; I’m off to give it a try.
Okay…I have to lash out and be the sicko in all of this. I love the beauty of the dark wood grain and the simplicity of the entire layout…very nice! Now…I would, however, like to see this in more of a dark and creepy mood. Can we spice it up just a hair? Maybe some bloody hand prints that have been dragged down it somewhere? Or maybe something as simple as an axe in the wall? Suprise me! But yea….for the lighter hearted people out there…THIS ROCKS!
Nice! Where’s rocking chair, fireplace and cup of cocoa?
can you change the colour of the wood?
To change the color of the wood, you’d have to upload a new custom background image with the wood color changed in the image.
I like. I like. Reminds me of my brothers bedrooms back in White Plains. Dark wood paneling. Super cozy. And it actually appeals because I’m starting a blog about books. It’s very library – literary. Looks like you might have hit this one out of the park. Thanks for making my first time out with WordPress a rewarding one.
wow……its beautiful…!
I’m switching to this one now.
it looks nice….
I like it.
I am presently required to do a blog for ancient manuscript research.
I can’t seem to find a theme with the right background.
any suggestions?
Thank you for all your work.
Treba might be nice for that.
cool…i like it!
I like it. I’m using it. It goes with the whole woodgrain theme I’m using with google chrome.
Very nice! I’ll have to give it a go sometime.
Cool theme. Thx. Gonna try it on my blog.
Dark brown means old
the cute tiny flower means girly
my grandma likes it
Nice theme.
Isn’t it possible to have a picture in the top, on the blog title?
It’s possible to have a custom background image, not a custom header image.
so natural
i like that backgraound…thx.
bel colore
Rustic!
If a person has the CSS upgrade, they could replace the pink flower with an image of their choosing!
sucks! didn’t like it at all.. most of the themes here in wordpress are becoming monotonous .. why dont you get something more in vector and abstract art format. these r too boring
the pink flower next to each article why exactly is there?
i mean its very girly and sweet and stuff like that, kind of unserious
apart from that the rest of the theme is nice
this is completly awesome it will soon dominate all other blog themes
NIce!
If you’re into carpentry – what a great theme!
Don’t forget you can change the background. You can really get neat, different looks for the Dark Wood theme that way!
Looks real formal…I like it.>!!
This is a real eye pleaser. I just wish it wasn’t a 3 column ordeal.
I’m still waiting for a two column one with a nice wide blogging area to write in and a huge header plus clickable menu tabs. Not too fussy, but simple and smart with text that’s easy to read.
cool and wooden look.I like to try this.
this looks nice…
Please please please replace the pink flowers. The flowers have made this theme girls only.
Great theme!!!
Too dark man ..
Nice theme… Now, a theme that looks like the floor in our (wife & I) room… Good Job!
I love it! even though it’s too brown?
Anyway, can we make our own theme? If can, where? what is the application?
thank you very like theme 🙂
background color(brown) is dominating the whole content try light colors
What is the max image width on this theme? I’m on Redoable Lite which has a generous 655 width. If it’s the same here I will try this out.
The content width is 570 pixels in the Dark Wood theme.
No chance of excerpted post support, is there?
Cool, finally something dark after these white minimalistic themes! :))) Actually, it makes me want to create a new blog… However, the strange thing is that everybody here using this theme is still having the original wooden background, while in my opinion the custom background is the greatest advantage of this theme.Nice job!
I have the same wood floors in my kitchen!
elegant, i will try it. thak you!
Wow I like it.
the theme is great but I really believe Noel that pink flower is a disaster in whole picture. i wish you’d replace it with a better and mannish item (for exmple a simple cricle.
another suggestion for you my friend is about the color of hyperlinks! I think these hot colors is not suitable for this classic theme! i recommend just try colors like yellow, golden or cream.
thanks in advance 🙂
good job!
its nice..but not for me really! i wuuld love one made for like music cus i love music
Thank you good theme
So Pretty! The flower’s really cute, too
Thanks
Eh, too dark. I’m more looking forward for something more bright and eye-catching. This doesn’t fit my blog’s style.
I will test out the theme later if I have time.
Stick around with some more Themes!
I think it’s probably good feng shui since it has the element of wood and that = Wealth area. Good job!
I have to say its a little on the dark side!
impressive work! I love the theme already
Waaaaayy too dark for my taste 😀
Congratulations anyway 😀
it looks great, but why 3 columns? three is way to much for me, but ill try it out
thank God for you! I’m loving your themes, keep them coming 😀
mix matching colors. Pretty look
Nice theme! Friendly color
