We were thrilled to see several WordPress.com blogs — Eat Like a Girl, James Ramsden, Inspector Gadget, and Stilettoed Socialist — make the list of The Times article “40 bloggers who really count.”
On Eat Like a Girl, The Times noted the blog’s unique approach to cooking, stating “if you’re after a recipe for slow-roast wild boar belly, look no further.” The newspaper also praised fellow food blogger James Ramsden for writing about “cooking handsomely on a budget.”
Inspector Gadget was dubbed “invaluable” for providing “insight into life on the policing front line in 2010” and Stilletoed Socialist was hailed as the “poster girl for political social networking.”
Additionally, two WordPress VIP blogs were honored: Guido Fawkes’ blog and TechCrunch.
Congratulations to all of you, and keep up the great work! (And of course, we think ALL our bloggers count, but we’re always happy for these special accolades nonetheless.)
wow, congratulations to everyone!
it’s worth the hard work building up your blog, I think, haha~ XD
and this also encourage me to work more on my blog…! ^__^
Wow, good stuff!!! Congrats all around!
Congrats to the 4 and I wish them continued success!
Congratulations to all winners! You should be proud! 😀
Are you searching in other dailies around the world that published articles from wordpress.com? I was wondering if a new category can be pondered upon such as “Most steady blog” and the required corresponding criteria such as minimum weekly posts published and minimum daily hits or a combination of both and other criteria. I am sincerely interested to read steady bloggers since they read a lot to be able to publish steady.
Totally awesome! Well done, all.
Congratulations all!!!…gives us something to shoot for!
Wow guys. Congratulations, that’s terrific!
It’ll be a bigger number if you consider other countries. Congrats WordPress. ^_^
Congratulations! Nice news. WordPress is powerful technological platform…
and Thanks Team for the support to those Bloggers.-
Keep up the good work. Congrats!
It is a pity that only English blogs were considered. Please remember many bloggers who are not using English also count.
Congratulations to you all, you must be very proud of your work. 🙂
That’s amazing! Congratulations to you all!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I’ll get there someday…watch out for me 🙂
JK – Good Job Guys!
Thats amazing, I hope to be on a list like that someday. ❤
Congratulations to all 6 of you awesome bloggers! Keep up your good work. I might check them out one day when I have the time.
Congratulations to WordPress too for making their (and the thousands of others) come true 😀
Wow, awesome.
Congratulation guys…
Keep blogging and sharing 🙂
awesome your great guys… share what you’ve got.. that makes your self proud to us… 😀
Congrats to the blog owners on their hard work and dedication. I’d like to make that list, one day, myself.
Again, congratulations to all involved.
Regards,
WonderGoon
Congratulations to all including the WordPress Team for this wonderful achievement.
BRAVO TO ALL !!
I thought the world revolved around me. Oh well.
@ Raincoaster. Sorry, I’ll try harder in future if you give me another chance.
This is inspiring! 🙂 Congratulations!
I hear Time’s coming out with an article next week called Bloggers Who Don’t Count at All. It’ll be a thousand pages thick and I’m top of the list. 🙂
Wow how wonderful. Congrats
congratulations i’m happy for you !!!
Congrats! x
Congrats to all 4 above! From the heart! Also I think it’s time to start considering on giving the same opportunities to Spanish speaking bloggers, too!
This is great recognition, but by extension the Times article suggests that the rest of us don’t really count. We all count – we all make our contribution in one way or another. I second Tracy Leigh Ball when she wishes “everyone great success in wordpress.com not just the featured people.” After all, as she say, “We all have a great story to tell!!”
Great! congrats
Congratulations and thanks to WordPress.com for providing such a wonderful platform and community. ’tis a good place to belong.
Djr
Congrats all four of you!! Keep up the good work and keep rocking!!
Happy to be a fellow blogger at WP and to know that WP has made it to the Time list of bloggers!!
Cheers everyone!
congrats guys!
Glad to hear it… WP is still the best and truly innovative blogging platform!
That’s awesome. Congrats to these bloggers for getting some well-earned recognition.
congratulations, nice to see that they’re being appreciated!
Congratulations to all! I can’t wait to check out these amazing blogs!!!
congrats! Can you tell what are criterias to be “BLoggers who really count”?? Thanks 🙂
That is so huge an honor.. Congratulations to all of you.. Blogging is usually associated with Ranting (yeah I am serious). Its really wonderful to see everyone making an effort to scrape off the myth..
I am a newbie and yet wish to reach there someday soon..
Cheers..
congrats for the four ! 🙂
Nice job! Your hard work and creativity paid off! Really liked the theme for the James Ramsden one and will try it out on my own blog.
Congrats guys, awesome blogs. Keep up the great work.
wow congratulations to these fellow wordpress bloggers! i really admire talented writers!
Well my blog might not be among the top 40 in The Times, but at least it has made it into the Top 15 Bioinformatics Blogs in 2010
Congratulations! Great accomplishment.
Congrats, that’s a great achievement!!! 🙂
Fantastic news! Congratulations to all of you. Perhaps your good luck will rub off on some of us who are in this to raise money for a good cause, like the Christopher Reeve Foundation. Keep up the good work!
Well, hats off to you all… I know, as well as the umpteen number of other bloggers, how difficult it can be at times to keep up a good blog. For me, it’s just making my target of 1000+ words per day (personal goal). I commend everyone. Maybe one day, it’ll be my turn to shine!
Congrats! WordPress is indeed a great place.
Sad to see that there are only 40 😦 I am sure there are more and even better ones, but the noise to signal ratio on the web is too high to detect these.
Blogging is a liberal form of the media come to stay and to impress.
Keep the good work! I love wordpress!!
Congratulations….
This is very encouraging for all those who think: “A Free Blog provided by wordpress.com is useless” This perception should be changed after seeing this newsletter.
Again Congratulations on appearing in the Top 40.
Kind regards,
The PMP Guru
Great work!
This is super! Congratulations to the “lucky winners”! 🙂
That is amazing, and congratulations to these bloggers! It’s wonderful to see that when folks follow their passions, great things happen!
jane
Congrats to the winners and thanks Joy to connect with them.
Oh fantastic well done guys!!!
I love blogging and all that comes with it!
another example of why WordPress is best!
Ah, nice to know. Congratulations 🙂
Congrats to those bloggers!! Awesome!!
Joy Victory, I think you could have delicately pointed out that “The Times” is a um, well . . a British publication. I think our bloggers count for a little more here in the US of A, don’t you?
Good on them, good on us, good on wordpress.com
Yes, great work. Congrats to all. Only been on wordpress for a few days but already my eyes are being opened. Cheers!
Thats awesome! Congratulations on a job well done.We want to do more because of you.
I hope I can make it up there soon!!!
Great! How did we live before blogging?
😉
Wow, that’s awesome! Congrats to those bloggers.
Congratulations to these writers. Glad to “rub shoulders” with them.
Congrats Fellow Bloggers! =D
Very Cool. Congrats!
big ups to all great and not so great bloggers 🙂 we all do as much as we can! keep it up!
So many great blogs, so little time to read them. Being a specialist Amateur Radio blogger my readership will never match these mainstreamers but WP can give anyone their 15 minutes of frame. Carry on blogging! Well done to those that are a cut above the rest.
I smell book deal for EAT LIKE A GIRL… Good show !
Wow! CAN I HAVE YOUR AUTOGRAPH? *ahem* Congrats!
rock on fellow wordpressers!!!
Awesome! Kudos! And a great big thanks to WordPress for providing a forum for us bloggers.
That’s awesome! Congratulations all.
I’ve only been blogging for about a month and I have to say that, “I love being a part of this entire world of shared knowledge and stories that just 6 weeks ago I knew nothing about. It’s been an honest-to-God trip down the rabbit hole.
I love this Blogging community. Its not about competition it’s about sharing and learning and helping everyone achieve their individual goals. Congrats to those at the top for being leaders.
Your auspicious journey amplifies my spirit.. Now I am hankering to be wielded here
Thanks to you all for the kind comments 😉
Congratulations! I hope I could join these ranks one day 🙂
Congratulations to those who were recognized. You are examples to the rest of us.
Yet another reason why I think WordPress rocks! Congrats to all of these amazing bloggers 🙂
Does that mean the rest of us don’t count…? 😉
Hehhe, I agree with Staci, I am jealous but glad to be part of the blogging community.
I am happy when I receive a positive comment on my blog, so I can only imagine what you are feeling since the four of you were chosen. I am sure your blogs deserved it. Congrats!
congratulations you all…we know what this sort of a praise means to a blogger…keep up the good work
That is really great! Congratulations to all of them!
Congratulations! Wonderful job!
Dude, I count too… no matter what TIME says -.-
Time’s “40 bloggers who really count.” isn’t a comprehensible list so no need to celebrate according to me “Scripting News” by Dave Winer and “louisgray.com” by Louis Gray are best blogs!
and hey there folks do Time have enough expertise to just doll out a list from thousands of blogs! it’s time we should stop celebrating the brand names and just focus on quality!
though congratulations to those who have been noticed and celebrated!
It would be rude if i didn’t say something nice about selection of these wordpress bloggers and their blogs!
That is inspiring. Just a little more effort, David and you can reach for the stars…..
Congrats to all! And thanks to WP for providing a great place for us to “show and tell”!
Congradulations to you four! I need to try harder on all my blogs. You guys r awesome! LOL XD!!! 😆 bye bye! 😛
Congratulations! What I wanna know is “how do they do it?” I can’t even get my own family to view my blogs :))
Ok! I’m changing the name of my blog to:
Eat like a Guy!
perhaps appropriately:
Eat like a Pig!
lets see if that helps!
🙂
