Say hello to Koi, our newest theme. This light and colorful theme provides a beautiful framework for your WordPress.com site with delicate, hand-drawn illustrations and refined typography. The tasteful artwork featured in the header and footer are suggestive of koi, an ornamental fish often considered a symbol of love and friendship.
Enjoy the playful artwork and textured background, or customize the look with a custom background color and image, custom header image*, and custom navigation menu.
Koi’s right-hand sidebar and three footer columns are ready for all your widgets. If no widgets are enabled in the footer widget area, it will not appear.
Designed by Nick La of N.Design Studio, Koi is now available for your WordPress.com site and is coming soon for self-hosted WordPress.org sites.
Quick Specs (all measurements in pixels):

545, sidebar is266. - Main column width for the single image layout (no sidebar) is

* Koi allows both title and description text to be hidden completely from the custom header area.

I love the color and the drawings are light and pretty. The background is subtle but still has personality. Great job!
At first glance, this theme did not look right for my blog. But customized the header and the background nicely, and I am totally diggin’ it 🙂
BTW, it would be nice to give a couple of background/header options with a theme (kind of like you did for Twenty Ten).

So beautiful, that I would think the first impression of a casual visitor to my personal blog (using the Koi theme) would think I hired a special designer to the site.
It’s a pretty theme, but it looks more like the background to a fanfiction story than a professional website.
Ha, ha, I should talk – my blog IS a collection of stories, after all.

You finally struck my fancy. I’m a blues fan, but this one I think looks great with my gardening and Border collie blog.

This is a great looking theme! It’d be cool if there was a theme based on Hokusai’s “The Wave” or other ukiyo-e styles.

Very similar to the web browser background I use from Firefox. I love the look, just wished I could change the font style. 😉

That’s such a beautiful theme… I’m seriously considering changing my current one.. it’s a bit dark and it doesn’t really reflect my personality that much… LOVE the colour scheme!

It’s O-Koi, hahahahaha! I adore the header, looks very elegant…great design. It is reminiscent of a time when I dined on Kobe beef in the Hyōgo Prefecture of Japan followed by an evening of sake complete with shoji screens and beautiful geishas!
Love the Quick Specs you give at the end—that will be so useful if you want to switch themes and have everything ready like a new header or images in the sidebar before you do it. Another lovely theme too. 🙂

This is an OK theme, not my taste, all I am looking for is a very simple light text on dark background theme that does not have fixed width. Is that so difficult?
I recommend you check out Andrea, which has a flexible width and light text on a dark background (with option to change the background).
