Starting today there is a new way for your readers to share the posts on your blog with friends. This feature allows you to add sharing functionality from a range of services to the bottom of your blog posts.

Here’s a quick video introduction:
To begin with we have the following services for you to choose from. If there is a service missing from the list, don’t worry! You can add your own custom services as well.
- Press This
- Digg
- StumbleUpon
- Email to a friend
You can control these new options in your dashboard by going to Settings > Sharing.
You can choose which of these services you want to display and in a range of different formats. If you have the custom CSS upgrade you can go even further and choose your own icons and layout. We have also added stats for all activity around this feature so you will be able to see what content people are sharing and on what services. Check out the sharing support article for more information on getting setup. Note: We will also be releasing this as a WordPress.org plugin next week.
Update: This is now available as a WordPress.org Plugin called Sharedaddy.
I just discovered this… I was waiting for this for a long time… Thank you WORDPRESS!
Thumbs up! for WordPress team.
WOW! So pleased this has been done! can’t thank WordPress enough
Awesome. Good job!
I encourage “Bloggers” to switch to Word Press! Fantastic!!
Thanks!
I am new to WordPress and I spent the whole day yesterday trying to figure out how to share my page on Facebook.
This is so much easier!
Thanks a lot! This was the option I was waiting for.Now I’ll have no problem copy/pasting the sharing code every time.
IMO,the best thing is the custom adding option…Keep up the good work. 😉
Do bring updates like this only instead of Only-Themes.
Great! Thanks lot
Innovation..I LOVE IT!
I’ve been waiting for this!
Thanks for a great feature! I was hoping it would come soon to wordpress! I just installed it and is it just me or does the Twitter feature doesn’t appear for my blog.
Can you check if you have any FireFox plugins installed that may block it? The Twitter button works for FF for me.
Very good service.
As a former blogspot blogger and lover I can say that you [wordpress] guys are better then blogspot. I look forward on seen what else you guys have under your sleeve.
it was a great, , i setting this in my new theme. .okey thanks
Yes! Thank you!
This is pretty awesome, I’ve been hoping you guys would come up with something like this soon. Thanks for the new features.
Any chance at more/better Facebook integration? Would love to be able to put a Like Box on my site, but right now it gets stripped out.
How is it getting stripped? The Facebook service already has a like button if you configure it: https://wordpress.com/support/sharing/ Please contact support if you are still having difficulties
Thank for the reply John. My Like Button only shows when I open the article, otherwise it is not visible. My question is, can it please be visible on the main page [like the wonderful share buttons] without my readers having to click on the article. Thanks again. –jim
You need to change your settings so it is visible on index pages: https://wordpress.com/support/sharing/
WordPress.com just keeps getting better. And still easy to use 🙂
Nice ang good functionality!
I LOOOOOOOVE WORDPRESS.COM!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you … wonderfully useful.
Brilliant! Thank you WP
Finally, yes! — Any fb integration can wait (and is it really necessary?).
Great!
Awesome!!! It was about time, but i thank you anyway!!! Greetings from Peru!!
It’s nice! Thanks!
Totally awesome. Thanks so much!
finally… good work!
So pleased this has been added…have been adding something manually, but this is much, much better…thanks!
excellent addition!
Out of curiosity – are you also planning on adding the facebook “like” function that has become prevalent on so many other sites?
It’s already there, just change your settings for the Facebook button
Thank You!!! I, especially love the fact that I can place those buttons on the index page. My thought is, “Even if someone isn’t interested in my stories, it is likely they know someone who is!” I want the interested readers to have a way of sharing and I want those not interested to have a way of telling those who would like the content of my site. Just hope I didn’t overdo the buttons. 🙂
But, thanks for giving us these!!
like it love it and share it
what more can we do but sing thank you! 🙂
This is fantastic! Thank you! Exactly what I was wanting.
OMG this is fantastic. It’s exactly what I wanted you to do. Since when did you start reading minds?
YAYyyy!!!Great feature!! thumbs up!!
Ace!
Can we have a button for Delicious too?
great… i like this…:D
thank you wordpress!! you rocks!!!
YES! FINALLY!
Wonderful! I am just setting up my blog and am really learning as I go! This really helps to get the word out!
Hi
thank you
some of this button isn’t shown correctly .
please obviate this problem .
my suggestion : please add delicious button to sharing button .
thanks a lot , regards , bye
Contact support with any theme problems you may have. You can add delicious as a service yourself: https://wordpress.com/support/sharing/
FANTASTIC! That’s all I say.
This is perfect! 🙂
Thank you.
I just tried this and I LOVE it — however, how do I add delicious? I tried to find code on delicious and enter it in as a new sharing site, but WordPress wouldn’t have it!
Really an useful and very expected feature. Anyway, I agree with this comment:
https://wordpress.com/blog/2010/08/24/more-ways-to-share/#comment-102657
Fonts” would be cool if I could make this a bit smaller”. I think it should be inherited not from text, but from categories and tags in post footer.
(I have seen the feature in MistyLook and INove)
By the moment I prefer deleting any text in this cool feature.
Thanks a lot, anyhow! 🙂
If you contact support with these details they will collate any theme related issues and look into them.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Love the fact that it can be customized. Love the fact that it can appear on the index page, even when a post “continues,” and on the individual pages for each post. Love the fact that I no longer have to do this manually.
Fantastic work. Thanks!
thx so much, very usefull
I so wanted this kinda thing in WordPress!
Awesome!
You guys just keep on making WP even better!
Excellent, great to see you’ve taken user feedback on board quickly and efficiently. Hopefully this will make it a lot easier for people to share my posts. Thanks!
I heart you!
A welcome enhancement – thank you!
Oh Awe Oh Awe Awesome! So easy to Like so easy to Stumble so easy to Email ….you name it ..it’s eaaasily done. Love it! (although I’m not actively sharing my bloggy yet)
Wow, love it! Thanks!
Amazing
Thanks a lot WORDPRESS !!
Great! I’ve been waiting for this feature! Thank you so much for this! 🙂
Awesome! Thanks 🙂
So Cool!! i like it… goog job
its usefull…… thx 😉
Thanks. This is great. 🙂
i like this
finally. I have been waiting for this feature that I almost want to give up and go back to self-hosted wordpress.
Great job guys.
next thing can we have the ‘like’ feature, like the like feature in this blog? (scroll up).
I know I get use sociallife.com to emulate the facebook like (added it as a new share service so it works somewhat), but it doesn’t show how many people has like my post in the share bar, so it’s quite useless.
The WordPress.com like button is already available. 🙂 Full details here:
https://wordpress.com/support/likes/
My blog is too new but I hope it will be useful when/if I get people who want to share my posts!
very good…!!!:)
Great !
super thankyou! WORDPRESS IS THE BEST! 😛
Great stuff. This will be useful.
Why doesn’t It Show up on mine? Please Help!
It seems to be showing up on your site fine? If you have any problems please contact support with the details.
Love it, Thank you 😀
Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!
Beautyfull people!
Great.
Love the new sharing bar. However, I definitely will use the “icons only” setting and wish the Twitter icon were the same size as the others, as I’ve seen elsewhere. It destroys the uniformity and neatness of all the icons being same-sized squares and it appears to favor Twitter over the others..
Ooooooh! Yaeeeeeh! Thats why wordpress on the top!
thank you SO much for this!! I have wanted that for a while and it was such a pain remembering to add it manually to every post. much appreciated wordpress team!
Ultra useful feature! Thanks Automattic folks! The Facebook Like button I’m long-waiting for is finally here in WordPress.com!
That is what I was waiting for a long time in WordPress, thanks a lot 🙂
You guys ROCK!
Very cool, but shouldn’t this sort of thing show up next to the Like button or below the post? Right now (in Coraline, anyway) it looks like it’s part of the post content, which is less than ideal.
Please contact support with any theme specific problems that you find
if custom css is not upgraded, can i use these?if yes, how?plz sorry for poor english.
Yes you can, the CSS upgrade is not required
Wow! A few days ago I was checking AddThis forum topics to see if this feature can be implemented in WordPress, but I only found instructions how to manually add code, copying permalink for each and every page in the code.
And now it’s here as a simple new function. Great, thanks!
You know, it’s been said you get what you pay for, but you make that a lie. WordPress just keeps getting more valuable to its users, w/o costing a penny..
Thank you very much! Cheers!
YAY! is right. Thanks guys.
thank wordpress heheheeeeeeeee…….
It is awesome. I was waiting for it since long time. Thank you enny and entire wordpress dot com team.
wow thats great
Thank you! ♥
once again WP rocks!! just what i wanted!
Thanks once more!
Finally! This really makes sharing easier, I’ve been waiting for something like this. Thanks, WordPress. =)
Now just add a counting Flattr Button! Then everything is fine 😉
This is brilliant!!!
this is GREAT!
