The Theme Showcase exhibits the amazing collection of themes available on WordPress.com, documents theme features, and gives you a central place to explore themes outside of your dashboard. With colorful screenshots, detailed specifications, links to sites using the theme, and a list of suggested uses, I know you’ll be inspired to learn more about your current theme or try something new.
The Theme Showcase acts as both a tool for existing site owners to learn more about their theme, such as special features and quirks, and for new owners to explore all our themes and make an informed decision before signing up and choose a theme. Large-size screenshots and links to example content will demonstrate real-world usage of WordPress.com themes.
To explore our themes you can browse by subject (Photography, Lifestream, Magazine, Holiday, Single Page, …), appearance (Color, Number of columns, Width, …), features (Menus, Background, Header Image, …), or style (Outdoorsy, Techy, Grungy, Girly, Colorful, Conservative, Simple, …). Or, search for a theme that matches any combination of criteria you choose.
The Theme Showcase should be your first stop when thinking about WordPress.com themes. If you are considering starting a blog, begin here to pick the perfect theme. I just wish there was a better and wider variety to choose from. I’ve seen some pretty awesome ones from those who use WordPress.org. I just find it sort of depressing that they’re not of available use over here.
We are working hard to launch new themes—in the last year we added 29 themes, and more will come in 2011. If you have a specific theme you’d like to see on WordPress.com, please post on the Themes forum with the theme name, a link to view the theme, and—most importantly—why you like it and would love to have it here.

You have nicely and to the point answered all questions coming to novice, but i feel that topic chosen for understanding should have fewer side links to concentate. I am a blogger and like your efforts very much. Thanks a lot for providing such an excellent platform for displying our work and emotions.

David Thomson: Longer or shorter posts, frequent or rare, hoping for comment or not, tags/categories in use, number of columns used at present; could even analyse average sentence length for “seriousness” factor. Grade themes as stronger/weaker for these, have tool that can analyse a submitted/requested blog for same, and report. Well, it might work!

This is one of the most amazing things you’ve ever done! Using the theme finder allowed me to explore all of the things I can do with the theme I already had and I learned that I could do a lot more than I thought I could! I know it was probably a lot of work and I thank you guys for it!

This is fantastic! I’m very pleased with Vigilance (on Flaming Catheads, http://flamingcatheads.wordpress.com/, hope you’ll excuse the Shameless Plug) but am interested in seeing what others have done with it. And I’m thinking of launching a third blog — this will be perfect for deciding between Vigilance and something else.
