Next up, Los Angeles, California, and Donald Barnat‘s photo of insouciant street youth, entitled, “Forever 21.”
Over in New York City is “Out of the Shadows” by Shawn Escoffery.
After an in-flight beverage and hot meal, we present a piece from Aaron Joel Santos‘ photo essay, “North Korea in Hideous Distortion.”
Next stop, Tijuana, Mexico, and a piece from Justin Galloway, which is part of a photo essay called “Panteon Number 1.”
Here, we find ourselves in Tokyo, Japan, with a piece by Uyama Ekop from the photo essay, “From the subway to the streets.”
Next up, the beautiful colors of Hoi An, Vietnam, as seen through the lens of Jason S. Moore.
Over to Kolkata, India, where we find “The Locksmith,” by Madhu.
Here, Jeff Ryan shares some street photography from Brisbane, Australia, entitled, “Homeless Man, albert street.”
And now over to London, UK, with a portrait of John Pannell by Richard Guest.
Follow us to Germany, where FRANKSFRANKFURT captured “Golden Dog” fighting the wind on a walk.

That NEW YORK CITY: Out of the Shadows photo looks like something we went through back in December 2013 when the Arctic Vortex settled into our area here in Canada. What a cold month that was for everyone!
The arctic vortex remains. I heard on the radio today that this year was the second coldest in 100 years.

All the photographs are awesome, my favorite is the one with the woman with vegetables in front of her. The chillies are yummy.
This was super interesting. I felt like I was present in each of those photos. This is an awesome project.

What a wonderful jaunt around the world. I do wish I could actually make some of these travels, but right now if it cost a nickle to go around the world, I couldn’t get out of sight!

It’s interesting what came to mind when looking at these pics. I live in Vancouver where we have a large immigrant population, so seeing these pics was like looking into 12 different people’s realities even though we live here in Canada side by side…hmmm
Great photos. I’m always amazed at how third world entrepreneurs manage. There’s a guy with shop in the space between buildings. It doesn’t even look like an alley. And the lady selling vegetables on the street — nothing. No tables, doors, cash register.
The human spirit to build something and make it grow and thrive is like a seed. Toss it anywhere and with just a little spot of soil, sun and water it will sprout and grow.
Very interesting collection of pictures. I love traveling, it keeps me connected to the our great big world.

So are people of African descent and Africa not a part of the world? Why aren’t there any representations of Africans in these 12 photos around the world? The picture in this post of Frankfurt, Germany is just of a dog. You really included a picture of a dog but not any black people? Not just Asians and white people populate this planet.
There’s a different, fairly random mix of regions represented in each post in this series — in last month’s installment, for example, two of the featured posts were from Subsaharan Africa (South Africa and Namibia), and two from the Middle East (Palestine and Israel). There was even one written from Antarctica! We’ll definitely continue to showcase posts from all parts of the world in the future.
This post makes me want to go EVERYWHERE and see EVERYTHING!
