Happy Theme Thursday! Today we’re introducing three new free themes to our collection: Libretto, Lovecraft, and Publication.
Libretto
Featuring big, bold drop caps and oversized images, Libretto is ideal for showcasing longform writing or stunning imagery. Its classic design and typographic details will give your blog a sophisticated, elegant look. Fully responsive, the theme adapts easily to tablets and other mobile devices, ensuring that your content is easy to see.

Libretto is a fork of Readly, originally designed by WPShower.

Lovecraft

Lovecraft, by Anders Norén, is a fashionable solution for your personal blog or website. Prominent custom headers and featured images give your visuals a bold presence, three footer widget areas offer plenty of space for secondary information, and striking typography and attention to detail makes your content the star.

Check out Lovecraft in the Theme Showcase, or activate it from Appearance → Themes.
Publication
Meet Publication, an elegant blog and magazine theme that features full-screen Featured Images, crafted by Automattic’s own Thomas Guillot. It’s perfect for sites about fashion, food, travel, or design. With balanced typography, colors, and attention to detail, Publication helps you create visually stunning posts.

It’s incredible that these beautiful themes are free!
Some really nice new themes, will have to check them out.
Really WOW-themes. I want them all!
I just redesigned my blog this week and came very close to choosing Libretto. In the end, my existing content needed a different block quote format. Still nice, though.
Libretto appeals to me for long form publishing. It’s so clean and I love the dropcaps.
Keep more of these beautiful free themes coming, please. 🙂
My compliments on yet another batch of interesting new Themes. I just tested all three and… ‘Suburbia’ is still far and away the best theme for my blog!
I have a major crush on Libretto! I have been using it for several days and sigh with happiness each time I sit down to create a new blog post. It is FANTASTIC!
I love Lovecraft! 😀 It increases the font size but I wish there was a theme that put the writing more in the middle like in the Sela Theme.
These new themes are really nice… I will definitely use them.
Libretto is excellent!
I like them all, but I choose the Lovecraft to be my favourite. Good work.
Thank you for Lovecraft! Finally a theme I can better live with 🙂
these themes are FANTASTIC
Fell in love with lovecraft 🙂
That Libretto looks like the real deal 🙂
How beautiful it’s Lovecraft! I love it. 🙂
I activated Libretto immediately. It’s lovely apart from the huge text size of block quotes.
I know the font size can be changed in CSS, but in the absence of that it strikes me as just too overwhelmingly big compared to the rather elegant and delicate main body text.
Just my thoughts.
Just WOW! I switched my themed over to lovecraft. Boom. Beautiful! Thank you so much for offering these truly simple, elegant themes. Gratitude.
Best, Mairianne
These are pretty interesting, I might have to test one out!
Nice themes but i love the Libretto. Will look for my book blog.
When it comes to publishing articles, nothing beats the 2014 theme. The fixed menu, secondary menu and customized menu on the sidebars allow you to group articles into topics. You can also remove the left sidebar and the header image in full-page format leaving page uncluttered. I think the theme Publication is suitable for a blog, probably not for serious publication.
Thank you for Libretto. Nice themes!
Very cool themes!
Thank you for Lovecraft!
