I write all my own posts, do my own photography and more, but it would be useful to have an AI editor go over everything, particularly if it respected by writing style. It’s not a short cut to have an editor make suggestions. I used to be a sub-editor, copy editor and editor so I know the difference a good one can make. My wife, an English teacher, used to do some editing for me but it wasn’t fair on her due to the volume of posts over many years. I can’t afford a human editor, but I might be able to afford an AI one.

I’m delighted to hear that WordPress is working on AI to help existing bloggers who want to change the theme of their blogs rather than build a new one.
I’ve considered the theme options but don’t feel confident enough to switch from a Classic to a Block theme yet. It all seems too complicated, and I don’t want to risk breaking anything during the process. Although I have been blogging for 11 years on WordPress and have changed themes many times, they were all simply from Classic to Classic. Changing to an FSE Block theme looks much harder. I’ve also noticed that some of the available themes do not give the option of being able to preview before switching. Plus, I found searching for a new theme with a righthand widget bar very challenging.
I understand where you’re coming from! Moving from a Classic theme to a Block theme is a bigger change than switching between Classic themes, and it’s very normal to feel cautious about making that move.
I still remember making the leap to blocks for the first time, and it definitely felt like a steep learning curve at first. But now that I’m used to using Block themes, I honestly couldn’t imagine going back. There are so many benefits to block themes that make creating and customizing content easier—and more fun!

In the meantime, you can still use all the regular WordPress editing and customization tools in your dashboard to refresh your current site.
My blog is more than 30 years old. What I’d like is AI that could go through the thousands of draft posts that I never had time to complete, tidy up the spelling and grammar, ensure the writing style is consistent with my public posts and generate suitable headings before publishing. Doing it manually would take years. I’d also like AI that could go through and modernise the formatting of the old posts. Again, doing it manually would take years. Similarly with the old posts that lack featured images: I’d love AI to through, generate images and then give me a preview list so all I had to do was respond yes/no/try again.

Thanks for the response. The AI assistant is useful but doesn’t go far enough. Being able to instruct it to review all draft posts, edit them to be consistent with published posts and writing style, suggest headings and then present them in posts as “pending” with a “quick view and publish” option would make a massive difference. It would be like submitting copy to an editor but with final sign off remaining with me. . I’d happily pay either a higher subscription or a one off fee based on volume for something like that.

This is a great idea! But all of my WP sites have their own domain. So I guess I use WP.org. Can this tool be used there? Or can I use it on WP.com and transfer my site to it’s own domain?
