Your sites are about to get even faster on mobile devices: starting today, WordPress.com sites support Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) – a new initiative spearheaded by Google to dramatically improve the speed of your pages loading on phones and tablets.
The best part? WordPress.com users don’t need to do a thing. AMP works automatically, loading a lightning-fast version of your posts. This means readers will get your content even faster on mobile when they come to your site from Google search, or news apps like Nuzzel.

To see AMP in action on WordPress.com, check out this article, or see a Google search demo at g.co/amp.
Speed matters on the web. AMP is an open-source framework that allows browsers and apps to load your sites quickly on mobile devices. See the AMP site for more details on how it works. We’re proud to be a partner in this initiative.
And if you have a self-hosted WordPress site, we’ve got you covered too. Here’s a free AMP plugin – click here to install it.
Expect to see more apps and sites embracing AMP in the weeks and months to come – and as a WordPress.com publisher, you’re ready right now.
Something that was already fast just got faster? I’ll take it!
Excellent work – just tried it on my phone.
Nice! Speed is always good 🙂
That is such great news! Google takes loading time into consideration, so I worked on that yesterday. How ironic! Thanks, WordPress.
Reblogged this on Chris Lauzon's Blog and commented:
How awesome is this y’all?
It’s great!
Good, I will try it.
Kudos to WordPress.com , kudos to Google!
Thank you !!!
My site does not seem to load any faster on mobile. Am I missing something, you may be able to check?
Thanks for asking! Your normal mobile pages will load when you visit your site directly — but different sites (like Google search) and apps that support AMP can direct users to AMP versions of your page. You can see an AMP version of your posts by simply adding /amp/ to the end of your post URLs. Hope this helps!
Well done!
👏🏻👍🏻🔝 WordPress !!!!
Super grateful, I get notifications immediately!
Perfect as ever!
Cool! Thanks WP. 😀
it’s really helpful…
Thanks. I am new to this blogging world and I am already getting it faster on starting note. Cool.
That’s Great News. An the best part is that we as WordPress users don’t need to a thing. The number of mobile users are increasing day by day. This will really help us a lot.
Hope this works with windows 8. phones. I always get a message to upgrade browser or use old version. keep up the great work!
Google has emailed me saying that 5 of my website’s pages do not comply with amp. Will you fix any issues that come up?
Yes, we’re looking into this, thank you Zaia!
Really great news very nice !!! Great work…
Then can you explain why I got an email from Google saying my WP hosted blog was failing AMP verification checks?
Thanks for the heads-up, we are investigating this.
I just got an email from Google, saying that “Google systems have detected that some of your AMP pages do not meet our guidelines and will therefore not show in Google Search AMP-related features. The following report provides examples of pages with errors”
I don’t understand the AMP syntax, so I really don’t know what do.
We’re aware of alerts that some users are receiving, and we’ve been working closely with Google to resolve any issues as AMP rolls out. Thanks!
This is Fantastic News, I like it
Its really good news !!Excellent work I just try in my phone.
Thank you !!
Awesome writeup of getting up-to-speed with AMP on WordPress.
