Changed the URL of my new website to my old and deleted website – no access to new website anymore

    Hey guys,
    so I deleted my old website that was hosted by WordPress, so I could use the URL to create a new website with a new hoster, HostGator.com . It did not work, it said the URL was not available, so I had to go for the .net instead of the .com . I spend the last 2 days setting up my new website with wordpress hostet at hostgator, with a .net instead of the desired .com in the end of my url. Then I found the option to change the URL in the general settings of the WP Admin, while being logged in to mertinmedia.net/wp-admin (mertinmedia.net is the website i created, the old one was mertinmedia.com)…. And i thought it a clever idea to change the mertinmedia.net URL to mertinmedia.com, just to try out if it would now work using my old URL again. Well, it didn`t. I was still logged in at the mertinmedia.net/wp-admin so I changed the URL back to mertinmedia.net and saved. But still, when I type in mertinmedia.net, it automatically changes the .net to .com and says ‚Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.‘

    So yeah. I would like to use mertinmedia.com as the URL, but it should display the website I build under the URL of mertinmedia.net. I deleted my old website that used the URL mertinmedia.com three days ago, but it was not available to use at hostgator.com, where I host the new website.

    Does anyone have a clue how to solve this? Do I now have to buy some Domain Upgrade?

    I appreciate your help. I consider this a complex problem that some developer at WordPress could solve but I can`t find any straight contact to those guys. Would be great if someone can give me the contact details for the wordpress developers and actual human support…
