Biografie
Many people still regard Japan as one of the most exotic countries in the world – and they rightfully do so. However, for quite a few “exotic” is almost synonymous with “strange” and “impossible to explore”. Hence, they hesitate to consider visting Japan, because of the cultural and language barriers they fear.
With this blog I’m trying to break down these barriers as far as possible and to give everyone the opportunity to learn about the exciting culture of Japan (with an emphasis on the country’s capital, Tokyo) – beyond what you would read about in one of the usual travel guides.
Maybe you’ll also find out: Lots of things you may have heard or read about Japan are cliché – and not all of them really help to understand this country.
Für viele ist Japan noch immer eines der exotischsten Länder der Welt – und das ist es ganz sicher auch. Allerdings ist für nicht wenige “exotisch” auch fast schon ein Synonym für “eigenartig/fremd” und “unmöglich kennenzulernen”. Folglich ziehen sie einen Besuch Japans gar nicht erst in Erwägung, weil sie die kuturellen und sprachlichen Hindernisse fürchten.
Mit diesem Blog will ich versuchen, diese Barrieren möglichst aus dem Weg zu räumen und jedermann einen kleinen Einblick in die aufregende Kultur Japans (mit dem Schwerpunkt auf der Hauptstadt des Landes, Tokyo) zu geben und mich dabei nicht nur auf das zu beschränken, was in den meisten Reiseführern nachgelesen werden kann.
Vielleicht wird dabei auch klar: Vieles von dem, was man über Japan gehört oder gelesen hat, ist Klischee – und nicht alle dieser Klischees helfen, das Land zu verstehen.
