Control your site’s visibility

Your site’s privacy settings control who can view your site. This guide will show you where to find these settings, whether you want to unpublish your website, restrict access, or make it public.

Find the privacy settings

To access your site’s privacy options:

  1. Visit your site’s dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings → Reading.
Under "Settings", the "Reading" menu option is highlighted.
  1. Scroll to the Site Visibility section.
  2. Choose from three privacy options (or, launch your site):
    • Coming Soon: Your site is hidden from visitors while you’re working on it. Use this to temporarily unpublish your website. You can share a preview link with select people.
    • Public: Your site is visible to everyone.
    • Private: Your site is only visible to you and any users you approve. Use this to unpublish your website and restrict access to approved users only.
  3. Click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom of the page.
