Crawling robot Google private directories
-
Hi,
I have an ecommerce site and I was wondering if making private the main directory where ALL products are shown (and therefore needed to load them for the user) on main store page will harm SEO rank for the site.
Does (basically Google) crawler access private directories or just public ones?Just to make it clear, all products are loaded here
http://www.website.com/products/
Then I have subdirectories like
http://www.website.com/products/subproducts1
http://www.website.com/products/subproducts2
…I want users to access ‘subproducts1’, ‘subproducts2’ … ‘subproductsX’, but NOT http://www.website.com/products/
because I don’t want to let the user wait all products from site to load (right now there’s not many products, but I expect to have tens or hundreds of thousands products. So I want to restrict access to ‘www.website.com/products’ and just allow the user to access the subdirectories.
So again,
1) Would restricting access to /products/ directory negatively affect SEO rank because Google won’t be properly crawling all product pages?
2) Maybe is there a more efficient alternative to approach this issue instead of restricting that directory from user access?
Thanks
