  There is a number of followers displayed in the side bar. Where does it come from?

  And from the accounts that you have connected to your site (in your case, most of them come from Twitter).

  So, can we get followers, likes and comments from people unregistered in wordpress? How?

  Those followers are not the «usual» ones, it just an (old) way of displaying the number of people that follow your site network.

  That being said, they will need to have a WordPress.com account to like your post & pages but not to leave comments if you set your discussion settings that way:
