Host past due – lost site information
-
Hi there!
On September 2021 our Siteground host was past due, and we didn’t renew it.
So now when we access our WordPress account, we lost all of the information of our site. Is there any way to recover it ? And how can we prevent this not happening again in case we don’t want to renew out host or just change it?Thank you in advance.

Hi there!
This is the support forum for WordPress.com which is a different hosting company; I’d recommend you to get in touch with the support from Siteground. Hopefully, they will be able to help you restore the content of your site :)
Good luck!

Hi, thanks for the reply! I tried getting in contact with Siteground support but I cannot as I don’t have any active domain with them.
Anyway, as I created my site on WordPress, why would the information be removed due to a Siteground thing? I supposed the information of my site would be stored on my WordPress account, and just loose the domain.
Couldn’t I keep my site and change the host, for example?
Thanks for the help!

Hi there!
Even if you don’t have the domain there anymore, you have to have your site hosted there or on another hosting service. This is the only site I see linked to the account you’re using to write us: calzadosacero.wordpress.com so I suppose it’s not hosted here.
Do you remember if you also purchased the hosting with them? If that’s the case, they should be able to help you recover the content. If it’s not, I’d suggest checking your inboxes and looking for an email from the place where you built your site. Even if the domain was canceled, it’s possible that the hosting is still running.
By the way, this is the Spanish support forum. If you want to ask questions in English, I’ll recommend you to visit this other one:
