    It says that it’s free of charge the first year but then it comes up that it cost about 100 dollars. Why is this so unclear? Never a good sign when the money thing isn’t clear. Seems like a good site though.

    I understand the confusion; as you can see on our pricing page here, we offer the registration of a domain for free when it’s purchased along with a WordPress.com plan, but the plan itself is not free.

    It seems you have been checking the PRemium plan, but you can give it a look to all our options on that same page :)
