Was: Teacher of English as a foreign language, Spanish-English translator, founder of language school (which son now runs), centre exams manager for Cambridge Assessment, and speaking test examiner.

Higher Education: The Polytechnic, Regent Street, London, W.1, London University (external), León University (postgrad)
Qualifications: All concerning languages (French, Russian, Italian, Spanish) and teaching English.
Present home: León, Spain (since 1972)
Interests and pastimes: languages (the above plus German), birdwatching, reading, swimming, travelling, walks, drinking beer with my friends, slanging rightwing politicians, 50s and 60s pop music, learning the piano, and now blogging
