Bio
Quilla currently lives in the north-west of Spain, Galicia, a region unknown to mass tourism, where green vegetation meets the blue sea, and Celts, legends of elfs, witches and mystery live side by side.
She got her first camera at the age of 8 and when she was 11 she inherited her father’s analogic Canon AE-1. Since then, she has been messing around with photography books, courses, congresses, meetings, tutorials, exhibitions... and a camera has become her life companion.
Her passion for photography leads her anywhere, no matter where day and night. For her, photography is a way of stopping time, keeping an instant in the retina forever, capturing a feeling, an emotion that she tries to convey and rise in the beholder. In her opinion and paraphrasing Imogen Cunnigham, her favourite photograph is the one to come and the most important thing is to be there to enjoy it and take it.
At the moment she belongs to and actively takes part in three different associations: Expofoto Galicia, Grupo Bazán and Ferrolterra Photography, all the three in contact with first line and emerging national and international photographers.
And the story behind the nickname ‘Quilla’s Atelier’ is for you to find out.
