I want to delete my site but I’ve lost my account

    Hi everyone,

    I’ve created a website for my business many years ago. Now I have closed my business and would like to delete the website also (or at least set it private so that customers couldn’t find it anymore).

    My problem is that when I created the website I was a student at university and used university e-mail as my account. I haven’t been a student anymore for years and cannot reach that e-mail account. I’ve lost my WordPress account and password also. That means I’m not able to sign in to WordPress with that old account AND cannot set a new password because I’m not able to sign in that old e-mail.

    Years ago I upgraded my website so I have a transaction ID from that and maybe with that I could prove that I’m the owner of that website.

    But how could I get some help? It seems that nowadays you won’t get any help from the WordPress staff unless you pay something for the website upgrade. I couldn’t find any e-mail address or anything, only chat for some premium customers and this public forum.

    Do I really have to buy something to get help with DELETING the old website?

    I’m quite desperate with this. Thank you for your help if anyone can advice me what to do next.
