Misleading instruction – or possibly misunderstood :)

    I have a domain that I’ve been thinking about transferring to WordPress.com for a long time. The reason I finally did so, is that the text ”will be billed next time in a year” (in finnish). I thought ”okay cool I have one year left on my other domain provider anyway, so I lose max a few months.” So I went and transfered my domain. But it’s asking meto pay up now. What did I miss? And now I lost my year on the other provider? Should I cancel the transfer? Can I? The reason I want to transfer is the ease of use of WordPress.com, but I feel I’ve been played :(
