¿What Hapened whit my tags?

  • Unknown's avatar

I have 2 blogs, the 2 in wordpress.com, One of my blogs was erased of botd, I it understand, but that also erase it of the tags too, it i not understand
    The blog is:
http://blowme.wordpress.com [Warning – adult site drmike]

    vientos.
P.S: My english is very bad…, sorry =)

  • Unknown's avatar

    That blog has Adult content.
That is okay – you can have that blog here.
But we mark the blog as ‘Mature’. That takes it out of botd and also the dashboards.
Some people might take offence at the content which is why we do this.

  • Unknown's avatar

I understand that it is for adults, understand that they were extracting it of botd, but for that my tags extract, if they look at the tags, they belong to adults, never I have put tags for other things.
No tag takes my blog, I believe that it is unjust, I have seen other blogs where there are things very much explicit mas and if the tags work, because of it it is my commentary

    P.S: Sorry my english…

    Luis.

But yet you provide a link here in the forums for the blog here in the forums without any warning that it is an adult blog. Where was the warning? There’s no warning on those tags either. Some of us work in an environment where we can not have that on your monitors and would cause a great amount of problems if it was displayed.

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m not commenting on the tags because tags are not considered – only the actual content.

I receive complaints from people who click links from places like botd and the dashboard and they see nudity or sexual behavior. If they clicked a tag and saw the same thing they would send in a similar complaint.

When a blog is marked as Mature it effectively becomes hidden.

And if you have seen more explicit please send in a feedback. If those blogs exist and have adult content they too will be marked as Mature.

I get to do a couple every day. Security *loves* me around here. :)

Podz, maybe we need to make the muture setting more publicly known.

  • Unknown's avatar

Please unlink the name – IMO clicking on nudity is one thing – it may offend some. But also IMO clicking on “activity” is another thing that should definitely come with a warning. And IMO “activity” sites should have the name “unlinked” from them here on the forum.

I remember seeing that on the top list. :) Timethief, it’s not sex. It’s like Playboy style pictures.

Nudity doesn’t offend me – I model for artists and photographers. However, I once attended a church where I was told that nude modelling was not a “godly” profession. My response to this was to book yet another photograpy session based on the book of genesis, prior to the snake (penis) entering the picture (penetrating Eve), which led to the donning of “leaves” or so the story goes. The bare ass in the grass calendar sold very well and I donated my fees to the church missions fund. My husband rotflhao.

Nudity doesn’t offend me either but try explaining that to the security guards. :)

I would be in a world of hurt if I had to stay home and try doing what I have to do online over a dialup line.

See guys… u search tags Playmate in wordpress tag and my blog it does not appear !, Besides I do not raise anything that is of sex, alone models and playmates undress, and elegant well photographies, not totally at all explicitly
Revices the blog and they will see that I have reason.
I do not complain about the BOTD, I complain about the TAGS
    Luis.

The other blogs from that tag are now marked as Mature.

Vientos – your blog has Adult content. It stays as Mature.

  • Unknown's avatar

Could have sworn that there was somethinng in the TOS that stated that Mature content was to be not displayed in the Tag system anyway.

This is going to sound stupid, but what exactly DOES constitute a ‘mature’ blog?

I recall seeing a BotD blog in my log-in/welcome page that detailed the sexual adventures of a certain couple.

It was, in my opinion, a tastefully set-up blog and whatnot, but the contents were quite explicit. Should that blog have been categorized as ‘mature’?

  • Unknown's avatar

That’s a policy question which I better not answer. I send in a feedback and see if we can get a response.

I will mention though that when I get hit with an adult site or see one come across my Dash, I always send in a Feedback on it.

“In 1964, Justice Potter Stewart tried to explain “hard-core” pornography, or what is obscene, by saying, “I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced . . . [b]ut I know it when I see it”
    http://library.findlaw.com/2003/May/15/132747.html

To an extent that sums it up.

Mature sites are removed from listings. As soon as we state that a Mature site is defined by A B and C then those running those blogs will move ‘inside’ those rules so they can get listed.
    That’s one part.

We do not want to people to find themselves inadvertantly visting a blog featuring adult content. People browse here from work, people help here while at work and the last thing needed in a browser cache is porn (note – a boss WILL call it porn) so we need to hide those sites. So “Would it be okay to look at it at work” is another factor.

The “Would it offend your grandparents” type test also happens.

There is also the aspect that while we do not actively stop people from creating these sites, we would rather not encourage either. Someone who writes and blogs for themselves is one thing (which would still be marked as mature but arguably the owners would not object because they are blogging) and others whose blogs exist to drive traffic elsewhere are completely different.

There cannot be a definitive line drawn if for no other reason than we all have differing ideas as to what constitutes Adult material.

I recall seeing a BotD blog in my log-in/welcome page that detailed the sexual adventures of a certain couple.

I saw the same thing and wondered why it was not marked Mature.

Quick question: are the Mature blogs also removed from the “Next Blog” feature?

  • Unknown's avatar

Blogs can only be marked as mature if we know about them – please do send in a feedback :)

As to the question, I think they are….

  • Unknown's avatar

Vivian, probably because staff didn’t know that it was a Mature blog. When I hit one, I usually sen din a Feedback with a link to the blog stating that I consider it mature.

Donncha mentioned to me back a few months ago that Mature blogs are removed from the “Next blog” feature.

Anything that has nude pictures, I call mature. Even the pretty art, black and white ones. May be artistic but it would still get my butt out of here if a security guard walked on by.

  • Unknown's avatar

Next time I run across one, I’ll send it thru feedback. Thanks!
