    Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future. You should only cancel a domain if you’re completely sure you no longer want it at all.

    In this case, the domain should be completely deleted and released by the registry within another day or two, at which point you can try to register it where you want to use it.

    If you want to use the domain here on WordPress.com, we might also still be able to restore it. In that case, please buy a new plan for the WordPress.com site you want to use for the domain. Let us know once you’ve done that, and we can restore the domain.
