0 changed to o

I recently had a post that contained a url with letters and numbers, in that url was the number 0, yet when it was published it lept publishing it as the letter o. What is causing this to change the character, and breaking the link not allowing for the correct url to publish?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi!

That does not sound right. Can you share your expected link and happening link, please?

I can have a look at it and move forward from there.

    this was the link
    https: //drive.google.com/file/d/10j14–UfZFlIkqA-BEs2RchmBwG0NUP3/view?usp=sharing

but it was showing up as
    https: //drive.google.com/file/d/10j14–UfZFlIkqA-BEs2RchmBwGoNUP3/view?usp=sharing

the link is dead now, i got it to create a new one, but that was the problem, every time i posted it would change zero to o

  • Both the Google Drive links are not working. The first Google Drive link is an audio file, while the second Google Drive link is invalid.

Here is what I can do. I am tagging the post with “modlook” for the WordPress.com staff’s attention who should be able to help further.

    Hi dtrbq6,

It would be great to know more about how you added the Google Drive link. For example, pasted the whole URL into the Visual Editor. Or did you add it as a link?

Does the post you are referring to still contain the link?

I pasted that link into the visual editor, I created a new link, one that was not creating this issue, to get the link running. So at this juncture the link i had, would not either way. Its no longer valid.
It was just an interesting problem, I wouldnt say I solved it, more like got a work around to happen

    Hi dtrbq6,

I copied a share URL (containing 0) from one of my files on Google Drive. I then used that URL to create a text link in the visual editor but I wasn’t able to replicate the behaviour you described. 0 was not converted to o once the URL had been pasted into the editor.

If it happens again, it would be great if you could leave the link in your post and drop a note in this thread so I can see the problem in action.

    Thanks!

Thank you for trying, and like i said i figured a work around, so not an issue anymore, but if it does pop up I will do as you asked

That would be great, thanks :)
