1] How to create sub-categories? 2]signature with comments

1] How to create a sub-category within a category. e.g in Book review category, can I add sub categories like Mythology, new books, classics, thrillers etc?
2] When I comment on someone’s blog, I can see my gravatar. But hovering over the gravatar does not link back to my wordpress account. How can I add my customized wordpress blog address with every comment I make?

Hello there! I think I can help you out:
1. To create sub-categories go to the ‘Categories’ page. You will find it listed under ‘Posts’ in the menu sidebar. Here you will see all of the categories you have used on your blog. Under ‘Add New Category’, in the text box labeled ‘Name’, enter the category name you want to be the subcategory. Then, in the drop-down box found under ‘Parent’, choose the Category you want the sub-category to be found listed under and save by clicking ‘Add New Category’.
To use your example, assuming you already have the category ‘Book Review’ set up, you would write ‘Mythology’ in the ‘Name’ text box. Then, from the ‘Parent’ drop-down, you would choose ‘Book Review’. Then click the ‘Add New Category’ box and you will have your new subcategory all set.

2. To get your Gravatar to link to the website of your choice go to: https://wordpress.com/settings/account/ and within the Account Options Web Address text box, enter the URL of the website you want your Gravatar to take people to when they click on it. It can be any website, including the site associated with your WordPress.com account.

now how do I put/re-classify old posts under their proper sub-category?
do I just go to edit post and add a tag-word similar to sub-category name?
also, is there a trick to adding an image to a category? e/g instead of saying book reviews, can I add an image of books to the category name in the main page under
Category’ section? That would make the page look more visually appealing. -
To change the category of a post, yes, go to the post edit screen and on the right hand side of the page, in the category drop down, you will see the categories and subcategories you’ve created. Choose the category that you want to have for the post, and then click update.
The image to represent a category is a cool one but I don’t believe is possible without a premium membership and CSS.
I may be wrong though, and another member can shed some clarity on that.
