    1) Paid $90 – expected my site to NOT have the .wordpress.com

    2) My business name, once uncommon is now common, (as I discovered when trying to search for my blog) — I past 16 pages and still didn’t find it. Any suggestions. I think I want to close it — but do want to have a blog presence — but not if it’s not functional????! And if I close it — I don’t have another business email that I could use if this one is no longer viable???!??!

    3) Was told I would receive an opportunity to cxl at end of trial instead email confirmed!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,
You can confirm your billing history at > Dashboard > Store > Billing History and that’s where the transaction numbers are found.

Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrades, you ought to be able to request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades

WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/upgrades/#refunds
Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Thank you timethief for responding so quickly but I’m still not clear. If I paid the $90 upgrade, am I correct in believing that the .wordpress.com should be eliminated?

    Again Thank you! Claire

You don’t just pay and expect magic to happen. lol :D You pay and then act to do the required set up to implement domain mapping. here’s how the process igoes:
    Important Notes Before Upgrading http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#important-notes-before-upgrading
    All About Domains http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/all-about-domains/

You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard at > Store > My Upgrades.

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.

As you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.

See here if you do not own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

See here if you already own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

timetheif, please forgive my ignorance of the process, and I certainly did not wish to make you angry! I did understand that I had a limited time to cancel and was trying to get the answers I need to know if what I thought I purchased is going to give me the result I had hoped for: a blog with a business name that does not have a .wordpress.com after it.

That was the extent of that part of my question. Did paying the $90 get me a blog that will not have the .wordpress.com in it? Thank you for your help, Claire

I’m not angry at all and I posted lol :D at the end of my first sentence above to indicate that.

Did paying the $90 get me a blog that will not have the .wordpress.com in it?

Yes. See here for premium ie. pro-bundle plan details http://store.wordpress.com/premium-upgrades/pro-bundle/

  • You can add the custom domain name to remove the .wordpress.com part of the URL from this page. It doesn’t happen automatically, though. You’ll need to go there and manually add the domain name.

If you’d like to cancel the free trial just let me know.

Hi, Need help. Instructions to have my url read: ReGenesisC.com were to add the ReGenesisC instead of delete the wordpress, on a page that listed it as ReGenesisC.wordpress.com. Please explain in terms that an uninitiated ignorant person can understand, which means I don’t know which act I’m to select: Mapping or Registering — they seem to be my two choices. Is it possible to explain 1) 2) 3) what I am to do?

Thank you for your help! Claire

Hi kardotim, thank you for responding to this forum! Also thank timethief who provided many souces of information I needed. WordPress step by step infomation is very good, but in this instance, I felt I didn’t have a clear understanding of what my next step would be, mapping or registering. I suceeded by guess. I could have done this earlier by was afraid to wind up someplace I didn’t want to be and wouldn’t know how to undo! Thank you once again for monitoring this forum! Claire Andrus
