1. The connection between wordpress.com account and website creation at wordpress.org | 2. The connection between a profile on the official wordpress.org website to creating a website after downloading wordpress.org from the storage company

    1. I signed up for free at wordpress.com. I want to move to wordpress.org after signing up for site hosting. Is there any connection between my accounts between the two? Or can I safely delete the account at wordpress.com without worrying about affecting the connection (email address I signed up for, password, etc.) afterwards at wordpress.org?

    2. Another thing,
If I signed up for wordpress.org and now have a profile on the official site, does it have to do with creating my own website at wordpress.org after downloading wordpress through the hosting company?
What is the difference between my profile on the official site (wordpress.org) and my own website after using web hosting and web creation?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi @ronelharar,

    1. There is no connection between your WordPress.com account and the self-hosted WordPress.org install at another hosting provider.
Please note that WordPress.com does not offer email hosting directly. Read more about emails at the link down below:
    https://wordpress.com/support/add-email/

    2. Your profile at the official WordPress.org site will give you access to official WordPress.org forum where you can ask for help in case you run into any issues with your self-hosted site.
    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

To understand the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org I recommend that you go through the support doc at the link below:

    Hi Sunil Chauhan,
    sorry I don’t know how to tag you… :)

    Thanks for the quick answer!

I understand by your explanation that non of the things is connected in any way, as I hoped.
    And therefor:
    1. I can delete my WordPress.com account without worrying it might affect my WordPress.org site.
    2. And also, that registing to the official WordPress.org site is not connected in any way to my future WordPress.org site that I will get from the hosted site.

    Thanks a lot! :)

One last thing, with your permission.

Is there a prevention from entering two separate details (different emails and passwords) on the official WordPress.org site (for forum) and the WordPress.org site that I will regiester to the storage company and receive my WordPress.org personal site from?
Or those two must be the same?

    Again, thanks in advance!

    Hi @ronelharar,

To tag someone in forums you use @ and then type their username after it for example @username.

    1. Yes, you can delete WordPress.com account without any worries about it affecting your WordPress.org account.

    2. Yes, registering to the official WordPress.org site is not connected in any way to the WordPress software installation that you will have for your site on your hosting.

    3. There is no such restriction. You can have separate email and password combination for your WordPress.org account and the WordPress site installation on your hosting.

Just keep your credentials stored somewhere safe with you.

Hope I have answered all your queries.

Got a bit late in responding to you as I had been busy in my day job and couldn’t log in here due to internet failure in the morning.

    Best :)
