1. When the post goes public the text is not wrapping properly. There is half a line of empty space.
2. Is it possible to save an edit rather than having to go directly online with it?
3. Is there a way to create a wordpress shortcut to my desktop?

Hi, I’ll take these in order to keep things simple.
1. I’m not sure what post you’re referring to. Could you post a link to the specific post and mention the part that has the layout issues you’re looking at?
2. If you’re working on a page or post that hasn’t yet been published you can save it as a draft before publishing. If the page or post has already been published once then there is only the option to update it live on the site.
3. It depends a lot on what operating system and browser you’re using. If you can let me know the details I can help sort that out for you. Thanks!

May 25, 2011 – Leave a ResponseLike love, democracy is a word oft used and little understood. We have a vague sense of what love “means.” We tend to apply the word indiscriminately, based on a deep need to be loved by the people who are important to us. We like to see the word in print. We feel warm and safe when we hear it said aloud.
When we are “in love” our vision is a hazy. Our judgment is weak. We tend to believe what we want to believe and shunt aside any indication that what we believe may not be true.
Like love, democracy makes us feel good, feel safe and secure. It supplies us with a hope and the belief that we, and our brothers and sisters everywhere, can realize our potential to the fullest.
When we live in a democracy we can trust to our government to act in our best interests because we believe we are the government. When we are told we live in a democracy, we believe so because we want to.
It is disturbing to learn that in fact our government was not set up to be a democracy but an oligarchy. To understand why this is true one needs to recognize that government is a numbers game, that is to say that the number of people who rule determine the form and structure of government. When one person rules, the government is a monarchy or autocracy. When a few people rule that government is known as an oligarchy or
aristocracy. When all the citizens govern, the government is a democracy.1. See the gap,”an oligarchy or…..’
3. I am using Firefox. Other programs like “Word” have built in shortcut functions.

The gap in the post is because there’s also a gap in the post content when I view it in the edit page. There’s a line break between “or” and “aristocracy” If you remove that line break the spacing in the post will go back to normal.
For Firefox the only way to add a shortcut to your desktop would be to drag the URL from your address bar onto the desktop. That should create a link on the desktop to whatever page you had open.
