$12 plan

I signed up and paid $12, thinking I would be able to upload book covers to my blog to announce a new release. It tells me I have to upgrade to the $96/annual plan as a premium service to do that. What does the $12 cover?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

You should be able to upload book covers as an image (jpg, png) on every plan of wordpress.com.

How are you trying to upload them?

  • Hi there,

The $12 payment you made is for the registration of the domain virginiabrown.org. This means your site is still on the free hosting plan.

As @staartmees correctly pointed out, you definitely can upload book covers or any images directly to your blog on any of our plans, including the free one you’re currently using.

However, if you’re looking to upload other types of files, such as audio or video, you would indeed need to upgrade to one of our paid plans. These plans not only allow you to upload a wider range of file types but also offer additional features and capabilities that might be beneficial for your site.

Additionally, upgrading allows you to set your newly registered domain as the primary address for your site. At the moment, your custom domain redirects visitors to your free .wordpress.com address. By moving to a paid plan, your visitors will see your custom domain in their browser’s address bar, making your site look more professional.

If you have any more questions or need further assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help you.
