$18 Renewal Option Missing??
-
Hey there,
For the last couple of years, I’ve been able to renew my domain name for $18/year. It is now nearing its expiration but it seems that this option is no longer available. Could anyone point me in the right direction towards the least expensive way to keep it going, please? Thanks!

Hi there,
Just to be clear, have you tried renewing by clicking on your upgrade here? https://wordpress.com/purchases

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your help and quick reply! I have tried that, but the only options are $8.25/month or $24.94/month. It claims that our current “free” option never expires, but it was actually $18/year and does actually expire in 23 days. Do you have any idea what that might mean? Does an $18/year plan still exist?
Thanks for any insight you may be able to provide!

Hi @tomhance, we don’t have an $18/year plan, but you can buy and map extra domains at that price.
Still, you should be able to renew this domain. And I think I see the issue. Are you able to log in as the user who owns the domain? Once you’ve logged out then logged in as the correct user (the one who gets renewal emails) you can renew the upgrade.
I’m going to go ahead and open a private ticket so you can reach us quickly if you need more help with this.

All I wish to do is renew this domain. I am the owner of the domain, it is paid for with my credit card, and I received the email notice that it was expiring. It was previously handled by another staffer, Julia Shuck, but she is no longer with us and everything should be in my name.
However, I do not see an option to just renew the domain. I only see options to “upgrade”.

@tomhance I’ve contacted you via email. We can help you sort this out. Can you find and respond to the private email we sent? We’ll go from there.
