2 blogs with same name

I have a self-hosted blog titled myname.com. I also have a WP-hosted blog titled myname.wordpress.com. Neither is visible via URL. I get the 404 error. Am assuming there’s confusion over which one to display? How can I resolve this without deleting content from the self-hosted blog?
    Blog url: http://meredithsterling.wordpress.com/

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What is the exact url of your blog?

    http://www.meredithsterling.com

This is what I have listed in both the site: and home: address listings on my Settings-General page / Dashboard.

The original WP-hosted blog — which, as far as I know, has exactly the same name ( my stupidity) and which I simply chose quickly with no intention of actually using it — has no content attached to it.

More info: I originally set up a WP account in June 2012 because I was enrolled in an online course that required it. That’s when I chose a name for the ‘parent’ blog. In late July or August I set up a domain and account w/GoDaddy and installed WP into that account — or, that’s what I assumed happened. I gave the blog the same name, not thinking that there could be a conflict down the line.

Now, with 11 pages of content in what I assume if my self-hosted (GoDaddy) blog, I can’t ‘see’ it on the Internet. Not sure what to do from here…

GoDaddy says that their info shows that WP was correctly installed on my account with them and that the admin and index pages show up correctly — These, of course, are login pages, not content pages and the problem still exists. GoDaddy says that this is a WP issue.

I still wonder/think that it’s a problem w/2 WP accounts or installations conflicting with each other. One, the original WP account, has a visible (content-less) blog at http://meredithsterling.wordpress.com/

The 2nd WP account, installed in the root directory of my GoDaddy account, is where I created my actual content-rich? website which should appear at http://www.meredithsterling.com — or something close to that. And, it doesn’t.

I haven’t done anything exotic w/the website I’ve created — used one theme from start to finish (Suffusion) so I have no idea where to go from here. And, I’m not a programmer.

Thanks for any help you can provide. Otherwise, I can only think to try to delete everything and start over which doesn’t make much actual sense…

I don’t think this was the problem caused by your WordPress.com hosted blog. The problem seems in your side. You should ask this in WordPress.org support forums. This problem has nothing to do with your WordPress.com blog. In fact you’ve done something wrong with links. But I’m sorry no one can help you here.

Thank you. I’m not a programmer and I have used the Suffusion theme pretty much as is with a few very standard plug-ins. Certainly have not changed any links that I’m aware of — wouldn’t even know how to do it.

    Post to http://wordpress.org/support/
We cannot help you bhere at wordpress.com with your wordpress.org issue.

Thank you, I will do that. However, my 1st blog is hosted by Word Press and, since I’m assuming it’s in conflict with the separate and subsequent self-hosted blog, this isn’t strictly a WP.org issue … the conflict is the problem.

    Appreciate your advice.
