2 column post layout / theme
-
Hi there,
I’m starting a travel blog in which there will be two authors. We’d like to contrast our posts with each other side by side. Is it possible to change the layout of the current “Visual” theme to only have 2 columns, or are there perhaps any other themes or ways so that 2 posts can be displayed side by side?
Thanks,
BrentThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I understand what you are saying by opening your site in my iPhone 5.
The problem is caused by long word in your site title: INTERNACIONALÍZATE
Let me know if you have custom CSS upgrade so I can provide you custom CSS to reduce the size of the site title.
To quote staff from a similar thread:
If upgrading the site to a Premium plan — which would give you access to custom CSS — isn’t an option, the other workarounds I can think of are:
– using an acronym for the site title and putting the full event title in the tagline instead.
– switching to a theme that uses a smaller default font for the site title. You could preview them in the Customizer before activating to make sure the word fits. -
I am sorry, @ triplezx. My previous update was meant for a different user and was posted here by mistake. Apologies.

Hi @triplezx, hmmmm, I think what you would need would be a theme that would display the posts from one author in one column and the other author in the second column, and there aren’t any of those here at WordPress.com. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a theme anywhere that does that, so it may require some custom programming to get that functionality, and that kind of change is not something that can be done here at WordPress.com.
I did find this two-year old thread at WordPress.org for self-hosted WordPress sites: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/a-theme-for-double-blogging-two-authors-one-column-for-each . It could be that due to changes in WordPress itself that modifications would have to be made.

Hi @thesacredpath, thanks for getting back to me and sorry for the late reply – I’ve been travelling. I thought as much. I’ve got a self-hosted blog for another purpose and this is simply a new wordpress.com blog I set up for my trip. I’m currently using the “Sunspot” theme which works ok as long as the authors alternate their posts but the downside is that it can only display excerpts and not the whole post. I’m almost certain it would be possible with custom CSS but I think I’ll just have to make do with what I have. Thanks for your help though!
