2 day delay from website inquiries

    Hello,
I am writing because I have had complaints from my customers that their orders are not being received. After researching this further, it seems that any inquiries placed via my website/blog are taking 2 days to reach my email. Is this normal practice for wordpress free site? If so, I am not impressed and losing potential clients. Is there something else I should be doing to receive these notifications sooner? Why such a delay?
Thank you for your quick help and response.

  • If you mean at https://beaconbreads.wordpress.com/ the emails are definitely sent immediately.

Have you tried using a different email address under the form? https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/blocks/form-block/#customizing-your-form

Hello Macmanx, Yes, that is the blog I am referring to. The major problem is that the emails are NOT being sent immediately. They should be, but they are not. I have customized the form and put in my email address requesting information and I have not received any email notification at all from WordPress. There is a 2 days delay. Can you help with this or should I Close my wordpress account? This is unacceptabl and I am losing business.

  • Hi there,

I just tested the contact form on one of my WordPress.com sites and the email was delivered instantly.

Can you please let me what email address you’re using so I can have a look?

(email visible only to moderators and staff) is the email address that the inquiries should be sent to. I have not received it and I tested it over an hour ago.

  • Hi there,

If I look at the contact form submissions on your site, there shows two that were submitted on 8 July.

And our email logs for the email address you gave above shows two contact form notification emails sent on the same day, at the exact same time as indicated in your contact form submissions in your site’s admin area. Our logs also show your email provider accepted those emails, so if you haven’t received them, they might have been caught in a filter in your email inbox.

Please check the spam folder, and also check Gmail’s automatic filters, like the Social and Updates folders:
