2 important questions before I move from WP.com to WP.org
-
Hi!
Before I transfer my entire blog to WP.org from WP.com, I’d like to ask 2 questions:
1) All my stats from the past year, is there any way I can transfer that data into some analytics software that I’ll use? Or do I pretty much have to start from scratch?
2) WP.com seems to be really well optimized when it comes to SEO in major search engines. Will I lose that when I host my blog in a new server? (i.e. will my blog, in the new location, lose all that Google have helped my blog index and will nobody be able to find my blog in the new location? Thanks!
jThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1) You’d have to ask over at WP.org; there are stats counters that can start at some arbitrary number, but they’d know more about them over there than here, since they have more options on what they can
2) If you didn’t get domain mapping, and all your Googlejuice is flowing to Whatever.Wordpress.Com, then yes, you will lose ALL of that when you move. If you’ve had the Domain Name Upgrade for the last 6 months or more and your new blog has the same URL as the old one, you won’t lose anything when you make the move. An independent install, however, will never have the same pull as a WP.com blog, so your new posts won’t get quite the same exposure as your old ones.

Sorry, just to clarify, what do you mean by “independent install”? Does that just mean, if I switch to WP.org? Thanks again!
