2 newbie problems

  The upper left hand part of my header is obscured by the square that says protectthearroyo, Just another wordpress.com site. How can I move that off to the side or delete it and also, my introductory post begins with the large Hello, world that I want to get rid- yet when I try to edit the introductory post, the first line is my line, ‘My purpose’ how can i delete Hello wporld and move the other line with the date and posted by bob6outside tot he bottom of the introductory post.? Thanks for your help. I’m sure that I’ll get the hang of this in time.

  Those items can’t be altered directly, but they can be hidden via CSS if you have a Custom Design upgrade.

  I don’t understand this because I don’t see that square or the Hello,world on other WordPress blogs. Does that mean that everybody has a custom design upgrade?

  No, that’s just a feature of the theme you’re using. We have over 140 to choose from. It’s just that other people are using other themes.
