2 person registerinng for same domain at the same time

Hi guys, theoretically that is not supposed to happen right? All right, so I’m coordinating a project with a friend and after I bought domain name from WordPress, she then told me she had already purchased the domain from namecheap.
So the amount I paid was USD 18.00, since I added in the domain name while registering for the WordPress website.
Now it has been past 72 hours, my website does not shows up despite me pointing cashflowgameclub.com as the primary domain. It shows that it has been registered on namecheap instead.
Gosh omg, getting support is really getting on my nerves. And I read that refund past 72 hours is not allowed? How can WordPress sell something that is not in its possession?
Can I at the very least request for refund in full for the domain + mapping that I paid for? Before we decide to map the one in my friend’s possession to WordPress.com ?
