2 Primary Domain names?
-
Hi!
I am wondering if someone can help.
I have a primary site name “1.com” which works great.
When people go to “1.com”, the URL bar stays at “1.com” when people are navigating the site.
(“1.com” is the Primary Domain)Now I have also registered “2.com” with wordpress.com and have successfully directed it to the same blog
However, when you type in “2.com”, it will CHANGE your url into “1.com” in the URL bar.Is there any way .. that i can let it REMAIN at “2.com” in the URL bar?
Or any other HTML, website tricks that I can do this outside of wordpress.com? :)
THX! :)

Hi. Would you please give us the actual address (instead of 1 and 2.com) so we can better look at this problem in context?
-
Certainly!
So the Primary domain is ZumbaKo.com
And everything works great. The new domain which I want to work the same way is “ZumbaLily.com”
If you try it, you will see that if you visit ZumbaLily.com,
Your URL bar will change to ZumbaKo.comWould loveto be able to let ZumbaLily.com remain at the URL bar.
Any adviceis Greatly appreciated! :)

I know you can set more than one domain name to point to the same blog, but can you make it so that either domain name remains on the address bar? Not sure, so I tagged this thread for staff’s attention, so we can find out.

You can have different domain names that display the same base site but I think you need to have everything off WordPress.COM to do it – one site I deal with has multiple URL’s of the same base site – but their IT guys have not quite got it all to work right so you can’t see the page URL’s when you are on the site using the Alt. domain name –

Basically, you need to choose one primary domain to be displayed at all times, and you can choose that from Store -> Domains in your blog’s Dashboard.

Yeah, only one, it seems ..
humm any nice tricks that we can play with at the DNS level? :)
A guide maybe someone knows?Thx! :)

Not with the way domain mapping works. Everything will need to direct to one domain only.
I suppose you could just run a duplicate blog with the other domain, but please keep in mind that Google, Bing, and Yahoo heavily penalize duplicate content.
