i want to opt out of https://www.inspectlet.com/optout but it is BLOCKED by web security on my computer. … thats a clue of a bad thing…….PLEASE OPT ME OUT OF BEING TRACKED BY THEM AND ANY OTHERS!

The default timezone is UTC time. You can reset your timezone here > Settings > General.
Select the closest city to you in the same timezone in the drop-down menu you see there and then click “save changes”.

the help is not for my blog, didnt know i had one. i am following * http://thefrugalcrafter.wordpress.com/ * and the time is off in the comments at least…she is also located in the eastern time zone of the USA and then discovered a possible security problem with one of their tracking sites!!! hello

I answered you 3 minutes after you posted. I am not a clown and this peer support is not a joke nor do with put up with any nastiness here.
I strongly suggest that you keep all your communication on this support forum polite https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-forums-code-of-conduct?replies=1 because Volunteers can pick and choose exactly which threads to respond to.

With regard to the fact that you cannot use this link https://www.inspectlet.com/optout the solution could be a simple one.
Try http://www.inspectlet.com/optout. If that doesn’t work then while waiting for Staff to assist you, you could try temporarily disabling your security program, clicking the link and enabling it again afterwards. -
thank you ‘timethief’ i meant NO disrespect to wordpress or anyone else! i am very new to this and found all this ‘help’ page/;forums actually by accident! didnt even know i had my own ‘blog’ so to speak. i apologize if i offended anyone.
thanks for your help in all of this. i just wanted to know how to contact i guess the ‘staff’ as you put it! i actually have been playing around once i found out the page before i knew i had any responses. i did change the time, but it looks like it might be on the blog users end that i follow.
2. i will not undo the security block until i get it checked out by the security firm. they are very very good and i cannot risk getting infected and losing my computer again, but thanks for the idea. done it once with another site and paid a heavy price.

Thank goodness for that. You just made me happy and that’s not a bad thing because I answer more support questions than any other Volunteer does … lol :D

The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.
Lastly, don’t post again into any thread that tagged for Staff. They answer threads in chronological order and posting again moves the timestamps foward so it takes longer to get help.

@cindyzs – I’m reading through the thread here. It seems there are two main issues:

Could you clarify what blog you’re referring about here? Are you referring to your blog cindyzs.wordpress.com or thefrugalcrafter.wordpress.com (which you mentioned in your replies)? The latter is owned by another blogger, hence the time on posts will be controlled on their side.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by “blocked by your computer”? Are you referring to a blocked pop-up window that occurs when you click “Inspectlet.com opt-out” here?

jeremeylduvall, my clock was changed cindyzs, but it the i guess thefrugalcrafters that is wrong. so not really a big deal i guess. but while trying to figure out that mess, i saw about being tracked or whatever it is called and wanted to opt out (which it should be the other way, we should have to opt in) but my security blocked it with this message:

Unblock page and continue
so i cannot nor will not unblock it and take a chance that i have my computer compromised again or infected.
another person helped me with some of the ins and outs of wordpress, so pretty much this is the only issue right now that i have.

I’m Canadian so I have already celebrated Thanksgiving but thanks for the well wishes and all the best to you on your hiliday. I’m traveling to the big island to sing in a concert tomorrow and I’m very excited about that.
