    1. How do I allow a specific person access to my blog, when I have it set on private only…allowed for people I choose. How do I choose those people?

    2. Is it possible to set something up so that whenever a new blog post is published an email goes out to a few? I knwo this could normally be done with an RSS feed, but in blogger, I can email upon publishing to up to 10 people. I would like to do the same here if possible,

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

On settings > privacy when a blog is set to private, you are allowed to add up to 35 users. In this case “users” would be those that are allowed to read your blog, but they would not be able to write posts or anything like that. They would be able to comment on post though.

The users you add have to have a wordpress.COM username and password (account) but they do not have to have a blog here. They can choose when they sign up for an account whether they want a blog or just an account.

The only email update thing we can use here is the feedburner service and I don’t think that it will work with private blogs because the way that feedburner knows when you publish a new post is by monitoring your RSS feed, and with a private blog, you do not have an RSS feed (it would defeat the purpose for you setting it to private).

so do I invite them with their email address to view my blog, then when they sign up they can see it?
