2 step authentication and lost backup codes

Through a series of events, the Google authenticator was deleted from my phone and I lost my printed copy of backup codes in an office cleaning frenzy. I can no longer log into my wordpress account because I need a code that I don’t have. Any help you can give me would be appreciated!

I have generated a one-time use code that you can use to authenticate your login.
You will receive that in your account’s administrative email box.

I haven’t gotten an email, which makes me wonder what email box I have set up in there. I checked junk mail folders, but have yet to locate it. Any chance it could just be taking awhile?

The code really should not have taken much time to get to you.
Could you tell me what email address you are checking and I can confirm if that’s what you’ve got connected to your account?
You and I will be able to see the email address, but it will be redacted so nobody else can view it.

The first one is the email address on file for you. I just resent.
Could you let me know if you receive it, please?
Also, for the future, you should also be able to enter your WordPress.com account name/email and password, and when asked for your authentication code, you’ll see a link to send a code via SMS. Then, you’ll get a text message with a code you can use.

Hi @praveenatblog – Two-step authentication is not enabled on the account you’re currently writing from. If you’re having trouble with a different account, please fill out the Account Recovery form here:
