    Hello,

I unintentionally lost access to my WordPress.com account after switching phones and deleting Google Authenticator. I thought that my account was also linked to my phone number as a backup means of verification via SMS, but apparently it was not.

I would really appreciate any help you could give me. I need to access my blog asap and anything you can do to help is much appreciated.

    My blog address is: http://banterwithben.wordpress.com

    Thanks!

    Thank you Timethief.

I tried the third link, hopefully something positive will happen.

(The first link will not help because I cannot even log in to remove 2-step verification. The second link will not help because if I reset my password then two step is still being used.)

Do you have any other tips while I wait?

    Timethief,

I noticed on other forum users with similar issues as mine you stated,

“I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.”

Is there anyway we could also try this tactic to fix my problem?

It will not expedite the Account Recovery Staff. They deal with requests as would be expected ie. the ones with the earliest date and timestamps will be dealt with first and they will move forward to the most recent ones.

Okay, I understand the process. Once again, thank you for you help!

If you can reply back from the blog owner’s account (btg2) or send an e-mail that’s associated with that account, we can send you a recovery code.

    Looking forward to your reply.

For my blog, http://banterwithben.wordpress.com (my account btg2), the email address is (email visible only to moderators and staff).

What is your email address so I can send you an email?

Please note, I would reply to this forum through btg2, but I cannot log into the forum because my 2-step verification is not working. Therefore I am resound through my other blog.

    Thanks.

    Kardotim,

I sent you an email from my (email visible only to moderators and staff) account and made the subject line “http://banterwithben.wordpress.com 2-step verification forum followup.”

    Please check out the email.

    Thank you!
