2 things: last updated date on pages in my site view & block cannot be displayed

    In the interface where I can view my site pages the last updated date is completely wrong. I just updated a page May 18, 2021 and it’s showing a date from 2017.

    When I updated the page on May 18 everything was fine. Now I’m getting a Block cannot be displayed on … every page that I’ve checked so far.

    This is a fairly simple website. There’s not a lot going on. It is hosted on .wordpress.com without it’s own domain.

    Was there an update recently which would affect .wordpress.com websites?

    What is the URL of the site you’re working on, and what is the title of the page that you updated? Where exactly are you seeing the 2017 date?

    It’s happening all over, but for the sake of the most recent example, on May 18 I updated https://jasonleepta.wordpress.com/business/meetings/

    Now when I look at the My Site view, the updated date for meetings is wrong. Maybe it’s showing created date?

    That’s correct. In your posts or pages lists, it will show the original publish date, not the date that you’ve made changes.

    Regarding the “Block cannot be displayed on” error message. What block are you using and do you have an example page where this error is happening? Let us know if you still have this problem and we’ll be happy to take a closer look.

    I must be going crazy. I could have sworn I use to see a last updated date there. Thank you!

    Moving on to the blocks, it’s on every page. Sticking with the Meeting date example. On May 18 I updated the page by adding a link on the words May 18. Yesterday and today I can’t see any content. On one page I was able to switch to HTML view to make an update, but now I can’t even manage to see that option.

    I don’t remember selecting a type of block. Can you tell from this view?

    I went to check on posts to see if they were experiencing block problems.

    A blog post made Oct 2, 2020 or after is fine and I can see its blocks.

    I cannot see the blocks in a blog post made June 10, 2020 or earlier it seems.

    Try switching to the Code Editor overall: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/#more-options

    Does that allow you to make the change you need?

    I can give it a try to see if it allows me to make updates. I can edit HTML but ultimately the site needs to be a wysiwyg editor. I’m getting ready to hand the site maintenance off to someone else.

    I was chatting with my tech guy when he got home and he asked if I had cleared my cache or tried a different browser. I’d like to report that after clearing my cache and restarting my browser the blocks are back. Hopefully they will stay. :)
