Hi there!
You can, but you should be aware of how to properly work with a developer on your site – we have some great tips here:
There may be situations when you wish to hire a developer to help you create the site of your dreams! A developer is often used to customize a third party theme or plugin, make advanced CSS customization, or take care of your full website development. This guide shares tips you’ll need to know when working with a developer for your WordPress.com site. When Would I Need a Developer?Security TiOtherwise, this is how you would add a new person to your site:
- Go to the WordPress.com website and log in to your account.
- In the top left corner of the screen, click on the WordPress logo to access the dashboard.
- In the dashboard menu on the left-hand side, click on “People”.
- Click on the “Invite People” button.
- In the “Invite People” box, enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
- If you want to give the person a specific role, such as Administrator or Editor, select the appropriate role from the drop-down menu. If you do not want to give them full access to your site, you would want to make them an Editor, which is a step below the Administrator role.
- If you want to add a personal message, you can do so in the “Personal Message” box.
- Click on the “Send Invitation” button.
- The person you invited will receive an email with a link to accept the invitation. Once they accept the invitation, they will be able to access your WordPress.com website with the role you assigned them.
I hope that helps! Let us know if you have any other questions.
